Steve began playing guitar 18 years ago, and had some success in local bands and guitar contests. About 12 years ago, Steve gave his life to the Lord, and began a long journey of discovery about himself, and God. Steve has served faithfully in whatever church he was called to, playing whatever style, whatever instrument, however frequently he was called upon, usually 2 or 3 times a week, while the Lord worked out in him the plan for his life. Steve still serves on the music ministry team at his present home, The Father's House Church in Richmond, VA. He plays very frequently, usually 3 or 4 Sundays a month. The time has come when the Lord as begun to speak to Steve about using the gifting he has in a larger capacity. Steve has begun work on an instrumental record, intended to capture the heart of God as it flows through the gifting He gave Steve. "My normal approach in worship is a 'flow,' which is to say, everything is improvised in the moment. In a worship setting, any song can be called for at any time, so rehearsals and set lists are only occasionally helpful. 99% of what I do is in the moment. This record is my first real attempt at capturing the unique flavor God has given me in an original song format designed to be replayed note for note. I am very excited about this. It also marks a transition from a supporting member to a leadership role in the performance of the music." Those closest to Steve have been supporting this kind of record for years, but Steve maintains that it just was not yet time. "The past year has been amazingly difficult, but in the midst of it, the Lord began speaking to me about set times, the times He ordains for things to happen. It seems like everything I heard was about time, and the right times for things to take place. He began to show me that the time for this season of ministry for my life was fast approaching. That's why the first song is titled 'The Time,' because now is the time for me to move into this area of worship." "The Time" is the first song completed for Steve's upcoming release, tentatively titled "Intelligent Design," due out mid 2007. Steve is also branching out by beginning to accept offers to play on others studio releases, and sit in with worship bands for services. "I am tremendously excited about the enlarging of this area of my life, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store!!" Steve plans to take his unique brand of warfare worship to the people of God once he has completed the project, in a series of services and/or concerts to introduce himself to the Body of Christ. When asked if he would embrace commercial success in a secular market, Steve said "The secular market is a mission field. If people are drawn to what I do in that market, my heart would be to give them a worship experience that would hopefully introduce them to the Spirit of God in a very real way!" Look for Steve's album and a concert schedule mid 2007.
