"Soul Joy Records L.L.C. -- Ministry through Music"

Hello I David Kelsey and the owner of Soul Joy Records (est 1999) and Blue Boot Studio (est 2006).
Our bands include Jesus Joshua 24:15, Millinium Diciple, Makiah Coakley, Wisdom's Call, and Eden's Way.
I have spent many years doing concert outreaches with friends and lots of different groups. Soul Joy Records is dedicated to not only music but the ministry of the groups on our label. Ministry through Music has been our slogan since 1999 and an important part of the belief system in place.

As a label it is the belief that our ministry to our groups is as important as the ministry itself. Money is a very important part of any buisness but it is not the center of our work. As the owner of the label I am activly seeking new ways to make money in the buisness. CDs are not the money maker that they were in the past with 45s, 33s, 8-tracks and cassettes. There are two things that drive this fact. One is the introduction of the MP3 and the internet. Yes when I was young I use to copy music from one cassette to another to share with friends. No one can say they did not aleast copy on song tape to tape. But in these days "sharing of music" across the internet has changed the face of music. It is something that we must learn to work with in order to make money. Concerts make money but in the Christian music industry the "name brand" performer has far more ability to do so. I cannot speak to this from experince but I am sure that music sales on CD do not make near the money that concerts do for the bands themselves. My time in the retail industry has taught me a great deal about working with money and how to "squeeze" new money out of new ideas. This is my intention with Soul Joy Records we will find ways to support not only the company but the bands who are on our lable. One of the key markers of our company will be that we are brothers and sisters not Soul Joy Records and the band. Sharing of ideas and building on them will get us to where we need to be in the marketplace. It will take some time of sorts but we will get there. This will mean the dropping of the old outdated ideas of the industry and moving on.
I hope you find peace in the love of Jesus Christ and that if you are in the music industry, in any way. that you do all you do as unto the Lord. If for any other reason it is just wasted time.

A note that is important concerning Soul Joy Records office in Texas and calls placed to our number. I have caller ID and I get allot of unknown callers and do not take the calls. The reason being that it takes to much time to talk to people who want to sell things. IF you do not have a proper ID you do have the oppurtunity to leave a message and you will be called by me. Thank You
The number to best use is our studio number which is 361-798-5788

Testimony
My interest in Christian music is strongly supported by its influence in my life for the past 25 years. Music is ministry and not just entertainment. I burned eveything I owned in secular music before I became a Christian. I found backwords masking on a song by a group and was so upset that someone would mess with my head that I got rid of it all.

Then I went looking and found Christian music. It was a song that brought me to Christ. The song was daddy please find a reason by Steve and Annie Chapman That song made me see myself and His love. My dad left me behind manily because of problems related to the Korean War. It was the need for a real loving dad that brought me love found in Jesus Christ the gift of God for my soul. I have listened only to Christian music since then and will only listen to the same the rest of my life.
