Scott was born in Beaufort, SC and born again in 1979. For several years, he was a lead singer in a rock band and lived a “rock-n-roll” life style. As Scott says, “When I accepted Jesus as my Savior, it was more like a collision than a meeting, but that’s what it took to get my attention. I always thought that lifestyle was the good life but as it turns out, it was no life at all.”

Through faith in Christ, Scott was introduced to the true meaning of a fulfilling life and that’s when everything began to change. From that moment forward, Scott’s singing and songwriting began to examine how the mercy and patience of a loving God had led him from a life bent on destruction to a life filled with “a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
