About Me
In the Bible, the Seraphim are angels of worship who sit around the throne of God. The sole purpose of a Seraph is to worship the Lord.

We exist to be a worship band that brings the Gospel to the nations through music. We fully intend to lead people to the throne of God to hear His word.

SERAPH continues to live by three guiding principals: to make music filled with Scripture; to engage students personally, creating an opportunity to encourage them in their faith; and finally, to passionately worship God and lead people to a greater understanding of His love.

The band SERAPH (sεr-?f) originated when Brad Hill, who had been performing his original songs while leading worship for youth events, decided it was time to form a band. Founding member Tommy Hinton approached childhood friends Aaron Turner and Steven Kelley with the idea and both quickly jumped on board. Soon after, Joe Langley and Anthony Kidd were asked to join the group. The six men gelled immediately and SERAPH was complete.

SERAPH has developed a sound all their own that is derived from influences such as U2, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and Nickel Creek. That sound has proven to be both unique and refreshing.

While recording their debut album Remember When with Jeff Quimby in 2006, SERAPH introduced unique instruments such as the harmonica, mandolin, and banjo to accompany their solid rock foundation and soaring epic vocals. The final result produced a sound that breaks new ground in Contemporary Christian Music.

After the album's release American Family Radio added two singles from Remember When (‘More Than Conquerors' and ‘Near You') to their national rotation on more than 180 radio stations that span 34 states nationwide.

In 2007 Matt Baker replaced founding drummer Tommy Hinton and SERAPH enlisted the services of Will Jarrell as a full time sound engineer and ministry partner. With these changes in place, SERAPH said goodbye to their traditional jobs and decided to pursue the band as their sole source of income. SERAPH embarked a new era of constant touring and both personal and musical growth. By December of 2007 SERAPH was ready to go back into the studio to work on their second album "Shout it out." SERAPH secured the services of veteran Atlanta area producer Don McCollister. Don had worked with large acts such as Third Day, Shawn Mullins and Sister Hazel. But in the end, it was Don's love for independent music and his genuine interest in SERAPH that made him such a great fit for the job. 2008 saw SERAPH going further and spending more time on the road than ever before. SERAPH spent much of their time in Texas, Illinois and Missouri with a trip to Las Vegas thrown in. In the summer SERAPH spent 6 of their 8 weeks of camps in Texas, marking their busiest summer yet. Shout it out was officially released in April of 2008 and by the end of the year it had sold 2000 copies, a big milestone for a fully independent band. The first single "Without a doubt" Spent 8 weeks in the top 10 on WBHY, the CCM Station in Mobile, AL where the band resides.

Where has the year gone

Easter is upon us, Passover is gone, and the rest of 2009 is knocking at the door. Time will get away from you if you are not careful. We have been doing great, not to slow, but not as busy as we would like to be. We continually pray for opportunity to share our music and the hope we have in Christ. We have continually been writing new music and growing more passionate about the Church. Our schedule has not allowed us to really put the creative time we would like to toward working on our new mus… Continue

Just a thought for you

We get the opportunity to travel all over the country and visit with the church and see her in her different forms from Las Vegas to Missouri. There are many differences, as you would surmise. However, there are many similarities there in. One thing I have noticed from time to time is that often times when we talk about Satan we tend to give him more credit that he should deserve. Now don’t get me wrong, he is powerful but lets face it in the end he is a looser. Now he knows of his coming demise… Continue

To Texas and Back again

We just returned from our third trip to Sugarland/ Houston Texas area and the last of 6 events in Texas since the end of January. We are by no means complaining, we have enjoyed ourselves in Texas. This last trip was a great weekend with some sweet people.

This weekend we also had the opportunity to serve along side Mike Satterfield. He did an amazing job relaying the Gospel and teaching the word. We are praying for Him as God has moved him away from Shelby Crossings in Birmingham, Al to full-t… Continue
