My dad sometimes tends to make these decisions that, dont really make to much sense, its almost as if he does things with no purpose, other than to feel in control of things, specifically a trip that i was promised that i would be able to go on, for an entire year my parents said i could go, it was a trip with my friends from my church, but then a month before, my dad said that i couldnt go because there wasnt enough money. my friends said that they could pay for me, also there was an option of being sponsered by my church, so money wasnt really a problem. after my dad heard all this, he still just said " no you cant go, and you dont have the right to know why" so just please pray that God will work on my dads heart and mind, and if it be his will, that i can go on this trip that iv,e had my heart set on for a year, thankyou so much =]
Not to justify your Dad's or anything, but sometimes the biggest inconveniences turn out to be the biggest blessings. My Dad is generally the same way, so I can completely emphasize with you. Sometimes our parents are just too down-to-earth and practical that they don't know what's best (in terms of how God sees things--not specifically the way you or I see things).
I'll pray for your situation, but keep an eye out because God might be working behind the scenes on YOUR heart :).
