I learned over the weekend that the Dad I grew up with (albeit not my biological dad, but the person I think of when I think of a 'Dad' none the less) is in the hospital. He has a mass removed from his colon that doubled in size overnight, but was found (thus far) to be non-cancerous. He remains in the hospital for observation, and after the surgery was sent to the ICU for a time due to a sudden drop in blood pressure.
I know he's of an age where these sorts of things are more typical (late 60's ish) but still...I'm just not ready yet, you know? If it's the Lord's timing, it's the Lord's timing, but I'll take every additional day, month or year with him that I can get, so please keep him in your prayers. His name is Walter.
Additionally, today I submitted to be on a travel show that selects 5 people to go to a region for 2 months and report on their travels for the travel channel. I have no idea what the probability is that I may get selected, but if you will, pray for the Lord to have his way with that, too. It could certainly be a tool in His hand to have a Christian on the show (and of course, I would love to have the chance to take a two month tour of Latin America!).
