Once again I'm going to rerun my "Q & A" with Leeland, one of my most well recieved blogs ever. A lot of people haven't seen it yet, and since I talk about their new CD in the blog to follow, I thought it would be fun to reprint it once more. I'm gonna see them in a few weeks, and I hope to be able to hand this Q & A to the band like I did with my Hawk Nelson Q & A last July.
Jim: Leeland, it's great to be able to chat, what's up bro?
Leeland: Hey!
Jim: First of all, I want you to know that your debut CD is my number one CD for 2006.
Leeland: How Wonderful.
Jim: I'd like to offer you some coffee, but I heard you might have a problem with drinking caffeine.
Leeland: Can't Stop.
Jim: That's too bad, even after 10 cups?
Leeland: Too Much!
Jim: Well, maybe you can stop if I force you to drink too much. Anyway, would you describe yourself as someone who has his feet firmly planted, or one who reaches for the stars?
Leeland: Reaching.
Jim: I wish I had that type of make-up...how could I reach for the stars?
Leeland: Lift Your Eyes.
Jim: When you are putting together a song, does the lyrics come to your mind first, or the music?
Leeland: Sound of Melodies.
Jim: What would be the adjective you use the most to describe Jesus?
Leeland: Beautiful Lord.
Jim: On to a subject dear to me, football. How did the New Orleans football players react to Katrina?
Leeland: Tears of the Saints.
Jim: I heard once you hurt your leg playing football on Thanksgiving morning. How did you manage to eat the turkey with the rest of your family?
Leeland: Carried to the Table.
Jim: Just a minute L, I think you are pulling a fast one on me. You haven't really opened up, in fact, every answer you have given is just a name of a song on your CD! Would I be right in guessing that you have just used me to help promote individual songs for future radio play?
Leeland: Yes You Have!
Jim: Thanks...I guess.
There you have it...my first exclusive interview for myCCM...will it be my last? You decide!
Post dated note...I did this originally in November and was well recieved. Of course this is not a real interview, but a tribute to a great CD! Leeland picture by Chuck Frey.
