Last week I kind of chewed out Denver and the boys for not mentioning they are Christians on The Next Great American Band. Well, it took Rod Stewart week to bring it out of them. They were shown reading scripture and praying, because there wasn't too many Rod Stewart songs that they could perform. They got voted through and did one of there best performances in weeks, doing Baby Jane. Sheila E brought up their faith some more when talking to them, so at least the public knows that The Clark Brothers aren't the only Christians on the show!

Speaking of my new heroes in music, they did a rendition of "You're in My Heart" that made Sheila speechless and in tears. Though I wouldn't go that far, it was a beautiful rendition. I agreed a little with Dicko that Ashley perhaps could have played the fiddle. They were told they could bring out more brothers next time if they want to fill their sound out even more..that would be so cool. My wife is now a big fan of the group as well. After all, the whole family was homeschooled before it was cool!

I think they were the best 2 bands tonight. I was bummed Tres Bien got voted off in favor of Light of Doom. Those kids aren't doing much for me the past 2 weeks. Sixwire really rocked tonight, even though I wasn't big on the song "Hot Legs". Dot Dot Dot did a pretty good job with "Young Hearts". I'll be happier next week when they do Queen songs. It's a band show, why do they bother with solo guys like Rod, Billy Joel etc. Save them for American Idol.

Let me know what you think. I say Dot Dot Dot will go home next week..going first hurts your voting slot.

In leaving, here is another picture of The Clark Brothers from doing "Saved" a few weeks ago.

Well, it's that time of the year when everyone is picking their fave CD's from the past year, and I'm no exception. To be on my list the CD will have to have come out between November 2006 and October 2007. This will account for CD's that came out too late last year to be recognized for 2006, CD's that just came out this month will have to wait until next year, when I can judge it more wisely over the test of time. So you won't see the new Mercy Me or Jordin Sparks releases. I don't get to listen to a wide assortment like music critics, so my list is only based on the 20 or so CD's I thought were deserving of my cash this year. The last 2 winners were Leeland in 2006 in and The After's in 2005.

So here goes:

1) RELIENT K..5 Score and Seven Years Ago.

My favorite band comes out with another classic. Catchy tunes from track to track, and the haunting Deathbed is a remarkable finishing song.

2) TobyMac....Portable Sounds

I agree with CCM writer Lindsey Williams, I do not miss DC Talk at all. Every one of his CD's get's better.

3) Daughtry....Daughtry

His song "Home" being a Christian hit validates everything I wrote about this CD when it came out last November. One hook after another from the former worship leader to American Idol superstar.

4) Delirious?...Now it the Time

This live concert CD/DVD shows them at their worshipful best. Great bonus features on DVD. (I think this came out the last 2 months of 2006!)

OK, those 4 CD's all got perfect 10 out of 10 scores..now the rest of list gets tougher to separate.

5) Rush of Fools...Rush of Fools

Featuring my radio song of the year, "Undo". They are also my new artist of the year.

6) Todd Agnew...Better Questions

Lots of different style's, convicting lyrics throughout.

7) Relient K...Let it Snow baby, Let it Reindeer

I wouldn't normally put a Christmas CD in a yearly list, but I can't get this out of my player for past month.

8) John Waller...The Blessing

I thought this would be new artist of the year until Rush of Fools came along.

9) Casting Crowns..The Altar and the Door

A very good CD, just don't like it as much as previous work.

10)  I'm gonna chicken out and list a bunch of excellent CD's that are too hard to split. It all depends on the mood for that day.

Swithfoot...Oh, Gravity.

Great music, I just could never really get into the lyrics like past Switchfoot classics.

Carrie Underwood....Carnival Ride

Probably should be around #7, but it's not really a Christian album, though the only song that is objectional is "Last Name".

The Almost...Southern Weather

This album is weird to me..I really like it, but it doesn't make me keep playing it. About once every 2 weeks I'll play it and dig it. Aaron Gillespie is super talented though.

The best of the rest:

33 Miles...33 miles

I was hoping I would like this CD a lot more than I did. It's country/pop, which should be right in my wheelhouse, but they don't quite hit it out of the ballpark but on a few songs.

Mainstay...Become Who You Are

My buddy just lent this to me, and it's quite impressive.

BarlowGirl...How Can We Be Silent

The CD starts off great, but king of drags along in other spots. Much prefer previous albums.

Jason Gray..All the Lovely Losers

Solid debut effort. Got it because I thought his voice was very unique.

The following CD's are too old for this list but I didn't get them until this year. If they would have been 2007 albums they all would have been top 10:

Flyleaf, Mat Kearney and Downhere.

Favorite concerts of 2007:

1) Hawk Nelson (see picture below)

2) Delirious

3) TobyMac

4) Red

5) Chris Tomlin

6) Jeremy Camp

7) Stellar Kart

8) Denver and The Mile High Orchestra  (they are doing better on the Next Great American Band)

9) Fireflight

10) Rebecca St. James

So tell me what your favorite CD and concerts were this year! Coming soon hopefully will be my songs of the year, and best Christmas albums of all time.

Hey everyone. Prayed you all had a great Thanksgiving! I really thought the Patriots were going down last night. our picker Chris must have been heartbroken they couldn't pull it off. I'm now hoping they go 16-0, but lose in the playoffs to the Colts. I love Tony Dungy, a true man of God. Buffalo has finally benched J.P. Losman after he gave away the game to the Jags. If they would have put in Edwards at halftime they might have pulled it off. Cleveland is looking good for the playoffs. In the NFC, it's wide open for the wild card, esp. if Vikes beat Lions this week to make everyone 6-6. The Packer-Cowboy game should be classic..too bad not much of the country will get to see it since it is on the NFL network. Scott gets this game since he's in the Packer market. Scott should make a fun wager with Cowboy fans Craig and the guys from Undeserved.

In the contest, my friend Steve takes over first place from Scott. (Steve has been using his wife's computer, so his picks don't have his picture anymore.) Our family's had a great time going to a fantastic production of "The Christmas Carol" the other night. Craig has also moved out of last place, putting your's truly in the basement! Many of you would have gone 6-0 if the Broncos would have held on against Chicago. That put Steve in first place, as he and I were the only ones with the Bears. Poor Dougie must have been looking for a shower rod to hang from after loss. He could have borrowed mine from the Bills-Cowboys game.

Here are the updated standings:

Steve...44-22 for year....5-1 last week.

Scott...43-22....4-2

Chris...36-19...5-1

Dougie....41-25...5-1

Undeserved...29-19...2-2

Rebel...33-27...2-2

Danielle..28-23...0-0 (She was out of town)

Craig....34-32...5-1

Jim...33-32...4-2.  At least everyone is over .500 for the first time all year.

This week there is a TON of great games with playoff implications. I'm not going to have a 2 pointer this week, but will have 7 games to choose from for a change. They are:

GREEN BAY AT DALLAS.   Another thursday game, so hopefully you can all get picks in early for that one. I was going to have this a 2 pointer, but lots missed the 2 pointer last week being on a Thursday. This will be a classic..Farve vs. Romo..who both play the game the way it's meant to play it.

DETROIT AT MINNESOTA.  Vikes should be rested after spending so much time returning Eli Manning's passes for touchdowns!

JACKSONVILLE AT INDY. After watching the Jags dismantle the Bills, I think they can be a real challenge to the Pats in the playoffs.

BUFFALO AT WASHINGTON. two 5-6 teams that need a win desperately to stay in the playoff hunt.

HOUSTON AT TENNESSEE. The Titans are falling apart, can the Texans take advantage?

CLEVELAND AT ARIZONA.   People were thinking the Cards were getting on a roll until they somehow lost to the 49ers.

NEW YORK GIANTS AT CHICAGO. The Giants are doing their annual second half swoon.

There you have it, 7 really tough games to pick this week. I'm gonna make you pick at least 5 of them. Have fun!

Tonight's Next Great american band featured the songs of the Rolling Stones, my least favorite band of all time. Even before I got saved I didn't like them, and after I did their lyrics would really bother me. So how could my new heroes, The Clark brothers, deal with it?

As it turns out, they took a dark song, "Gimme Shelter", and made it sound like a passionate cry out to the Lord. When Sheila asked them if they prayed before they performed, they weren't afraid to say yes. The judges all gave them a standing ovation. Dicko says he isn't a "religious man", but he prays they make it through every week. Just awesome guys.  They showed Ashley's little boy, he's so cute..his name is Asher, a biblical name. (Also a name of a good friend of mine!)

Denver and the boys did a pretty good job with "I'm Free", but John the judge was kind of making light of them being squeaky clean, and why they didn't do another song which I can't mention here. You talk about a nice fat softball lob to be hit out of the park to witness, and Denver still didn't say anything about being Christians and that's who we are. If you are afraid that mentioning you are a Christian will cost you votes, you are on the show with wrong motives. There is nothing wrong if you want to do pop music, but you can stilll be a light in that world. The Clark brothers are the best witness I've seen on a secular show in years. My brother came over on Thanksgiving who isn't saved, but I know right now he is going through the Bible and trying to find out who Jesus really is.(Pray for him, his name is Dean) Anyway, I found out he was diggin the show and when I said I just saw Denver in concert, he had no idea they were Christians. He loves The Clark brothers though, and for their passion.

Anyway, for the rest of the show I liked Sixwire a lot tonight, they kind of rocked it up for them, doing "This Could Be The Last Night. Tres Bein was right in their element doing 60's brit-rock. Light of Doom was off key and the judges rightfully pointed it out. Dot Dot Dot gets the thumbs down for choosing the terrible song, "Let's Spend The Night Together." Rubbish! I picked Clif Wagner to get voted off, and I was right. They were good sports about it though. This week I really think Denver is going. If he would have mentioned his faith it could have ben classic like when Mandisa forgave Simon because she was a Christian. I think that one little line has put her in the position she is today to spread the Gospel.

Thanx for all the fresh comments last week, hope to hear from you all again! Here is a picture of the Clark Brothers for those who haven't seen them!

I'm diggin' Jordin Sparks CD this week. For those who don't know, she had a history of Christian music before winning Idol, touring with Michael W. Smith and competing in GMA stuff. Her CD is being promoted for secular and Christian markets. She has a song called "God Loves Ugly", which is a beautiful song about God thinking we are beautiful, even if we don't feel that way about ourselves. If you dig Stacie Orrico type grooves, you should dig this.

The big news is about Chris Sligh, who made the top 10 last year. He has signed on to do a Christian CD, and if you want to hear some AWESOME songs that are coming, go to his site at www.myspace.com/chrissligh I usually don't go on myspace, but to hear this song called "Empty Me", it's well worth it. I predict right now it will be one of the biggest Christian songs of 2008. Also can check out his cool blogs at www.frommymindtoyoureyes.blogspot.com/

Prayed you all had a great Thankgiving! I had a fun one with my whole family coming over. My wife did her usual fantastic job with the meal.

Well, the family has gone home, the kids are in bed, and Survivor is over....the good guys do well again. I'm so happy for Yul, Ozzy and the crew. I just wish they would have gotten rid of Adam, who is a sleazy cat, instead of Nate.

Anyway, I'm thankful on this Thanksgiving for a God who loves me and shows us so much grace, and my fantastic wife and daughters who I love more than anything.

This won't be funny, just my 3 favorite songs about "Thanks"

1) Thank You...Ray Boltz   Classic tearjerker. I'll never forget singing it along with my friends when my youth Pastor moved away. We changed the lyrics a bit to fit him and he was bawling like a baby.

2) Thankful Heart...Petra   Beautiful balled from my favorite all-time band

3) Thank You...The Katina's   Great song.

Now for all you dog lovers who say I favor cats in my blogs, you may be right. I do love dogs. I've always had them until my Mandy died a few years ago. We couldn't replace her so we have 2 cats now, but I want to have a final Thanksgiving goodbye from a dog, who wants to kiss you, or else he is cleaning your computer screen!

My wife does a great job homeschooling..I did this blog a few months ago, but here it is again for those who missed it.

This list can be for homeschool or for anyone "Learning"

1) Homeschool Girl...B.O.B.   The ultimate tribute song from this silly but FUN short lived ska group.

2) The Answer to the Question...Tree63   The title track to their best album. Hey guys...you have a myccm account...answer my peep request if you want to keep getting my props!

3) ADDING to the Noise...Switchfoot   To show they really encourage this topic, they also have song number 4

4) Learning to Breathe...Switchfoot....I never thought you had to learn this skill. It always came natural to me.

5) PLUS ONE...no song, just the name of the group is enough:)

6) Learn to Let Go...Mark Schultz   Another thing I didn't think you needed to learn. When my girls were only one they let go of things and broke them.

7) The Great DIVIDE...Point of Grace   What is the great deal about dividing? I always preferred multiplying.

8) Rick Cua...Times Ten   Name of an album, but always good to know how to do. Just add a zero Rick!

9) Learning to Fly...FFH   Finally, something you really DO need to learn to perform the task at hand.

OK fellow bloggers, come up with one more to make it an even 10!

Hi homeschoolers..I did this blog back in June and got lots of good feedback,,since I have a lot of new homeschool peeps, I thought I would reprint it to make it easier to find. The other neat thing if you are a homeschooler is to look at the comments and you can find tons of other homeschooler's to meet. So here it is:

Sue and I just came back from our annual state homeschooling convention in Syracuse. It's a time of  refreshment for us as her Mom watches the kids. A time for encouragement as we hear some of the best speakers in the country on the subject like Mark Hamby, Lew Sterrett, Roger Erdvig, Julie Hiramine and lots more. A time of fellowship as we get together with hundreds of other homeschooling families, some that we only get to see this one weekend. It's also a time to look over all the curriculum to choose from for the following year. We have been using Sunlight for both kids, which we like. We have been using Saxon math for Kayla but she is getting tired of the repetition of it, so we are trying Horizon for 4th grade. We will keep Kristi on Saxon for 1st grade since we have most of the materials already.

What I wanted to hear is feedback from my peeps on their homeschooling experiences. I know I have a huge range from parents who teach, young adults who are through with homeschooling, and students who are in it now. Some of you loved it, some weren't too thrilled, but most it seems liked it for the most part. Sue and I really desire to keep doing it until they graduate high school. We would like to know what things you liked most about it, some of the best curriculums you remembered using that made it enjoyable, least favorite things and curriculums you used. Anything you want to add your opinions on the subject would be great. We talk to so many parents, but I was watching the hundreds of kids over the weekend and thinking they could be any of you, and what do YOU think? I going to try to contact peeps, but if you have other peeps that are homeschooled please have them chime in as well. I accept all homeschooler's as peeps! Just put your comments in the comment box below. I think it's a fun subject to discuss!

Thank you all so much! God Bless!  Love, Jim

P.S.   This is now a few days after I wrote this..your comments have been amazing..honest and interesting! Keep them coming in!

Hey everyone...I'm still recovering from the beatdown the Patriots laid down on my Bills..it could have been 70-10 if they really wanted to. I had a chance for a perfect week until Monday night..don't know why I picked the Titans..I needed them to lose to help the Bills wild card chances. The big news this week is our leader Scott had a poor week, so everyone crept up in the standings. Steve is only a half game back. Here's the standings and how you did last week:

Scott...39-20.....2-4

Steve....39-21....4-2

Chris...31-18...6-0 (nice job!)

Dougie...36-24...4-2

Undeserved...27-17...1-1 (came in late)

Rebel...31-25.....4-2

Danielle....28-23...4-1

Jim....29-30...5-1

Craig....29-31....5-1

Not a whole lot of exciting games this week. If you come in to late to pick the Thanksgiving day game, just pick the other ones. Here they are:

Green Bay at Detroit...I'll make the Turkey Day game the 2 pointer.

Houston at Cleveland

Washington at Tampa Bay

Denver at Chicago

Buffalo at Jacksonville..I'll give you a bonus point if you pick the Bills and they win!

I pray your Thanksgiving is a joyful one, as we thank the Lord for his many blessings!

This is the blog about the Next Great American Band show, but after last night, the show should be called... "The Clark Brothers show, all other bands just Renting Space".  I've never been so excited about a song on network TV as I was last night when they did this song called "Saved".  It must be an old classic from the writers they were featuring, but I never heard it before. What a song about having a messed up life, then getting saved and preaching salvation. (Later note, the video is on my profile page now.)

The judges were all floored by the boys again. Dicko said it even made a wretch like him closer to salvation.

Denver and the Mile High guys were OK, doing a funky song. Denver got his first bit of criticism from John, and I agree he was a little stiff. They need to show they are Christians somehow. They might need help getting through. Franklin Bridge was voted off from last week, which I couldn't believe.

I thought Sixwire was a little boring this week too. The bands I'm actually liking more each week are Dot Dot Dot and Light of Doom. Now the kid said a swear word which I didn't catch, but I was glad Sheila E. told him that it wasn't cool! Tres Bien were a lot of fun too. I'm still thinking Cliff Wagner will get voted off next time, but I'm worried for Denver.

So tell me what you think. I'd like someone besides Vita to comment. By the way, her comments are better than my blogs!

Wow, a week of upsets! I only went 4-9 picking all the games. The games for this contest were pretty much all won by the team that most thought would win, with the exception of the Chargers upset of Colts. That was a crazy game..reminded me of Bills-Cowboys..but the Colts couldn't come all the way back when they missed chip shot field goal. I was the only one who picked Chargers, but I ended up with by far the worst week because I missed 2 point Giant game, and stupidly picked Minny. Several picked up the free point for picking Jacksonville upset. Steve has closed the gap on Scott at last for first place. Props again for Dougie and Craig getting their CD reviews in the CCM issue, and for Undeserved for being in the myccm 100. I went on a long rant in a blog a few minutes ago why they were more worthy than groups like Third day..I'm sure it will ruffle a few feathers! Read it and tell me what you think!

I was proud of my Bills winning a game that they played terrible in. It's a sign of a good team that could do that. We've been losing games like that for this whole decade! We are only a game out of playoffs. The Eagles had a nice comeback too. I think they still have an outside chance to catch Lions for wildcard. What happened to the Saints? Looks like the Cowboy-Packer game in a few weeks will be the NFC game of the year..and it will be on the NFL network, which most of the country doesn't get! It's hard to not like Tony Romo..the guy is always smiling. Tony and Brett Farve look like they enjoy the game like we all did when we were 8 years old and playing in the backyard. Vince Young has really taken a step back this year with his passing..the fans are getting itchy down in Nashville I hear.

Here are the standings for year and this past week:

Scott....37-16.......3-3.  He almost was only one with the Browns upset picked, but they blew big lead.

Steve.....36-18....6-1.   Like Rebel and Dougie, he would have gone 7-0 if Venitari makes the kick.

Dougie.....32-22......6-1

Undeserved...26-16.....4-2

Chris.......25-18....4-2

Rebel.....27-23......6-1

Danielle....24-22....3-3.....Thanx for picking the Giants so I wasn't alone!

Jim....24-29....2-4.  I hear I will be in next month's bottom 100 in CCM magazine for picking football games!

Craig...24-30...5-2.   almost has caught me! Go to ccmmagazine.com and vote for his beautiful little daughter from China in the Thanksgiving contest!

Here are this week's games:

New York Giants at Detroit....big matchup of 6-3 teams. I'll make this the 2 point game.

San Diego at Jacksonville..2 unpredictable teams!

Tennessee at Denver...pretty good Monday night game for a change.

New Orleans at Houston..a couple of 4-5 teams with playoffs hopes still alive.

New England at Buffalo..like I did when the Bills played Dallas..I will give you 5 points if you pick Buffalo and they win! Only one point for losing. If you pick New England I'll give you one point for winning, but if they fall to the Bills you lose 5 points and you have to leave a comment in my profile box "BILLS RULE..PATS DROOL!"

Permalink Posted by: Jim Richardson at 4:25PM EST on November 12, 2007

Hey guys..what a group of people we have in our football contest! Craig and Dougie are in the latest CCM magazine with reviews in the Buzz factor, and Undeserved made the band section of the myccm 100 at # 18! They really deserve it. My personal opinion is the list should have been made up more of people who are active in the myccm community. I mean, it's great to be listed among heroes in the Christian community like TobyMac, Third Day, Smitty, etc. But does anyone have any conversations with them, like we have with all the indie groups like Undeserved and countless others? I know major Christian bands (like Skillet and Fireflight) are active with their fans on myspace..what's wrong with a little love to us myccm members? I love the guys from Hawk Nelson, but for crying out loud their bio on myccm was from when their first CD last time I checked. My wife thinks I'm nuts, thinking musicians are way to busy to ever give a comment back when we say we enjoyed a concert or something. What do you think? I will give props to MercyMe..they sent a bulletin to everyone when their first single was available on their myccm site. It's such a simple thing to do, but was really appreciated! I'm gonna buy their CD the first day it comes out. Newsboys also had a comment for me for some old classic pictures I put up of them. I'm not saying any of this because I'm mad or anything, I just think it would help their career's to communicate with myccm members, that's all. My prayer is in 3 years THIS site will be the major place for Christian bands to mingle with fans, not myspace! I would be pretty sure that would be the prayer of Chris Well, Jay, and other CCM staff.

I am thankful for the authors and bloggers in the mycmm 100. EVERY one of these people do correspond..and I think I can safely say I'd be considered friends with many of them.

Next year I'd like to see a myccm 100 list with the 10 friendliest people (an impossible task to be sure..we would all have a different top 10!)..I could nominate 50 people easily. They encourage, pray, make me laugh, and do all the kind of things Christians are to show for each other. That's the best part of myccm!

Thanks Chris Well for coming up with myccm!

Thank you CCM staff for having me in the myccm 100. I don't consider myself even a decent blogger compared to those listed and dozens of more who should have made the list. Still, to be mentioned in a list that includes the likes of Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Third Day and countless others of the Christian faith is a humbling honor.

Congrats for my peep Tara for her blog being published, my peep Elizabeth for a letter to the editor, and my football picking peeps Craig and Dougie for having reviews in the Buzz Factor.  Another peep in the football contest, the band Undeserved, made the myccm 100 list at #18 too. Another peep Kadi got her picture in there with Manic Drive. It's so cool as you know more people you see more and more of your peeps in the magazine!

Tonight they did Billy Joel songs, so I actually knew every one..that doesn't happen often in these shows for me. I missed the 2 hour show where they could do an original number as well.

Here is how I rated them:

1) The Clark Brothers.  They did my 2nd fave Joel song.."She's Got A Way". These guys are so good. They got to share about traveling the road with their evangelist family again. Even the judge said being from a religious background gives them more conviction in their performance. 2 brothers used to play for Carrie Underwood, so you know they are top notch musicians. Check them out in this video.."http://www.youtube.com/v/wYYPtW5s1AM&rel=1" I'm also going to put them doing "I'll Stand By You" from Idol gives back in my bulletins..so check that out too!

2) Denver and the Mile High gang...They did my Fave Joel song "Tell Her About It" This was their best performance on the show. Denver just had a baby a few days earlier so he is going back and forth..amazing he could be so right on vocally. I had to take 3 weeks off when I had my kids, I couldn't leave them or my wife! The judge Dicko had a good point though..he thinks they could make a great living performing concerts but not sure about selling records. That's exactly who they are. I thought they were great in concert. I only have one CD "Stand", and it's only so-so.

3) Light Of Doom..I can't believe these kids are growing on me. They rocked out "The Stranger"  I actually love metal when it's done without devilish lyrics.

4) Dot Dot Dot..they did a cool version of "Pressure". I thought the guy sung much better than in the past.

5) Sixwire..They did a solid job on "She's Always a Woman"

6) Franklin Bridge...The end of "Big Shot" rocked, but they looked uncomfortable until then.

7) Tres Bien!...I usually dig these guys, but "Movin Out" wasn't them.

8)Cliff Wagner..they bored me with "You May Be Right"

Me and Vita were both right about the Muggs and Rocket being voted off. I'll make my predictions for who gets voted off in my comments later in the week.

Well, congrats to the Patriots for going undefeated for the year..if they can pull that game off, I don't see anyone beating them! NBC moved next week's game against the Bills to Sunday night, so the whole country can see my Bills get whipped..or maybe they can almost pull off a shocker like against the Cowboys? If they can beat Dolphins they will play the Pats riding a 4 game winning streak. I never thought I would see that this year.

Last week Scott continued his hot picking for the year by going 6-0. Give us a chance! Steve would have gone 7-0 with the bonus point if the Colts would have hung on, and made it really close for the year between those 2. Here  are people's records for the year, followed by how they did last week.

Scott........34-13 for year........6-0 last week.   This is just insane picking, considering that every game I pick to use could go either way. Even his Packers are winning every week too.

Steve.........30-17........5-1.   He's still within fighting distance.

Undeserved.....22-14.......1-0   He forgot to pick until Sunday night game!

Dougie....26-21.........3-3.   Sorry about your Broncos mate. Seems everyone else's fave teams are doing great right now...except the next guy...

Chris.........21-16........5-1.     Good week for Chris, bad week for his Eagles.

Danielle....21-19.....2-2

Rebel........21-22....3-3.   She gave up on the Texans..so they win!

Jim....22-25......3-3.

Craig......19-28.....3-3

This was the first week that not a single person had a losing record. I should have never thrown that Dallas-Eagles gimme in there. No one picked the Eagles.

Some interesting games this week. Some may look obvious to pick, but they involve classic rivals where you can expect the unexpected.

The game of the week...Dallas at New York Giants.

That will be the two point game as well.

the other games:

Indy at San Diego.  Who will bounce back from tough games?

Jacksonville at Tennessee.

Cleveland at Pittsburgh.

Minnesota at Green Bay. Will Adrian Peterson run wild again?

on those last 3 games..if you pick the road teams I'll give you a bonus point if they win, since I'm a nice guy!

OK...have fun!...Jimmy the Geek

Just finished watching The Next Great American band, and I was getting so mad thinking that Denver and the boys weren't going to make it. They don't tell you the 10 groups that advanced except one at a time, and they were the last one's. I have trouble with this format, they did it on America;'s got Talent and I think it's a scam. The 2 bands that dont make it just HAVE to know beforehand, don't give us the baloney about each band being in suspense. You telling me they make 2 bands practice hard all week for nothing? Then when a band is announced all their equipment is all ready in one minute?

The two bands that didn't make it were The Likes of You and The Hatch. For my contest I get points for picking the Hatch, but since it's just me and Vita I'm not gonna keep it a contest unless I get a few more to predict who will get voted off each week. It's not too late if you want to join in!

I thought the best groups were The Clark Brothers and Sixwire. Am I becoming a big country music fan by listening to Carrie Underwood all week?

The next best were Franklin Bridge, Tres Bien and Denver. These groups all stand out as being a little different from the rest. Light of Doom actually impressed me, much better with their shirts on! The judges love Cliff Wagner but they bore me, though they are good at bluegrass style. The Muggs are awesome rockers but the singer can't sing a lick.

Bringing up the rear are the 2 groups I predict will be voted off. Dot Dot Dot and Rocket. Rocket and The Muggs couldn't take constructive criticism. The Hatch had lousy attitude when voted off as well.

Denver should be safe for next week because going last is a big advantage on getting votes. If they could overcome going off in the awful leadoff spot last week, they are set for a few more weeks.

Feel free to leave your thoughts..Jim the TV music critic.
