Not many exciting games this week until Green Bay last night pulling out the overtime thriller. That game kept most of us from having a really horrible week. Only 2 had the Jags, and only 3 had the Lions. I have to give the Bills credit for not folding up the season after losing that tough game against the Cowboys..they have won 2 in a row since and are creeping into wild card picture. Titans and Jags continue to win with mirrors.

I had the blog then on most devastating losses..since I'm in a better mood, I'll tel you my most memorable football game..when the Bills came from down 35-3 to beat Houston Oilers in 1992 playoffs to win 41-38 on the way to another Super Bowl. This was the largest comeback in NFL history, led by backup QB and Christian Frank Reich. What was your most memorable football game? Tell me when you make this week's picks if you have the time.

Of course this week brings us the most anticipated New England-Indy matchup. Should be a classic, with the winner having a chance to go 16-0 and make history. It will be this week's featured 2 game. There are lots of good games this week for that matter.

Here's how we did last week...Undeserved did the best for second straight week at 5-1. Scott, Dougie and Steve went 4-2.  I went 3-3 and Rebel went 2-2. Chris went 2-4, Danielle came in to pick the monday nighter but missed to go 0-2, and poor Craig went 1-5 again. But at least props go out to his Red Sox for winning it all. I'm only going to print the overall standings every other week for a while.

Here are the games for this week. For the first time I'm going to have 6 to choose from. You can still pick from 3 games on up to all 6 if you want to try to make up ground!

New England at Indy.  I think I'm only going to give 2 points if you pick Indy. If you pick Patriots and miss I won't penalize you though, you will only get one point for loss. New England is too much of a favorite to give 2 points for picking them however.

Seattle at Cleveland.  The Browns have really surprised me this year..will they keep it up?

Carolina at Tennessee.   Notice how some teams seem to be in this contest a lot? Because they are not good enough or lousy enough to make predicting their games easy! Panthers are 4-0 on road, 0-3 at home..go figure!

Jacksonville at New Orleans.  The Saints are trying to be just the second 0-4 team to come back and make playoffs..and I kind of like their chances. Still can't figure out how Jags won with Quinn Grey last week.

Green Bay at Kansas City.  Can Farve keep pulling games out against the overachieving Chiefs?

Dallas at Philly.  Too interesting a matchup to leave off this week's schedule. I like the Sunday night game to make it worth watching!

Have fun picking everyone!

(The following blog I published just before 5 Score and 7 Years Ago came out. That would turn out to be my CD of the year..so I wanted to update my fave songs now that they have a Christmas CD out too. My review of 5 Score is in my March archives, and I hope to do a review of the Christmas CD closer to Christmas season. Now on to my original blog...) Just read the cover story and CD review of Relient K in the new CCM magazine. All I can say is I am REALLY stoked about "Five Score and Seven Years Ago" coming out Tuesday! The song "Deathbed" itself sounds unbelievable. I will have my review on the album next weekend after giving it a few listens.

What a great band. I've mentioned Kutless being my favorite band of this decade, but Relient K might edge them out if this album is as good as advertised. Their self-titled debut CD was a little unpolished, but still got a rating of 9.5 out of 10 from me at the time. I even loved the group's name because I used to drive a Reliant K as a company car for my Dad. What a lousy car!

Since then, every one of their full length CD's has gotten a full 10 rating from me. They just keep getting better with every album. Nobody has more clever and witty lyrics. I'm praying they really have an impact in the mainstream even more so with this release. As my tribute, here are my favorite songs from them, in roughly the order they came out.

My Girlfriend..this got it all started for them. Funny, Marilyn Manson's career has done nothing since they dissed him!

Charles in Charge..goofy, but a riot.

Nancy Drew...I just never heard stuff like this before in Christian music.

Pressing On..now they are starting to hit their stride!

Sadie Hawkins Dance..how i love dancing with my daughters to this one.

For The Moments I feel Faint...beautiful song about Jesus

May the Horse be with You...possibly the funniest song I have ever heard. I still sing it every time I see a horse=)

Mood Rings..so we will be tipped off when they are ticked off..wow!

Hoopes I did it Again...these song titles are classic! What a tribute to Matt Hoopes.

I Am Understood?.. I can like a serious song.

My Girl's ex-Boyfriend....I sing this song just thinking about the stupid guy who was so wishy -washy with my wife for 3 years before I asked her out. Sorry buddy...you lost out, and I'm so glad you did!

Be My Escape...classic

I So Hate Consequences..these guys can be so honest.

(Ok, time for new entree's for list)

Deathbed...what a haunting, convicting song. What other band would even attempt a song like this?

Devastation and Reform...what a guitar riff!

Must Have Done Something Right..a great pop love song.

12 Days of Christmas..they made a song that is so tired and made me sing it in my head all day in October no less! Classic line.."What's a Partridge, what's a pear tree?, I don't know so please don't ask me."

I Hate Christmas Parties..this is like the "Deathbed" of Christmas songs..so sad, but beautiful too. I'm sure all can relate to it at one point of their life.

Well, that's a small list of my faves. What are yours? Drop me a line or comment! Here is a great picture of Matt for you from the Chuck Frey collection. I still regret never having seen them in concert yet:(

I realy dug the whole style of the Next Great American Band friday night. It's a better judge of the bands talent that they get to do an original song on top of that week's theme artist. I liked the whole energy of the bands and the crowd. Even the judges are pretty cool.

I thought Denver and Mile High kicked it off it great fashion, but being first I'm worried for them. There are going to be 2 bands voted off the first 2 weeks, and being first puts you in a huge disadvantage for those joining the show late. The other "Christian" bands, Franklin Bridge and The Clark brothers, have no worries. They were, along with Sixwire, the top 3 groups of the night. I thought the 3 worst bands were Dot Dot Dot, Rocket and Light of Doom. I'm glad the judges told them to put their shirts on! The other 5 groups were kind of lumped in between for me. I enjoyed the Bob Dylan songs, just hoped one of his Christian era songs would have been played. The closest thing was Knocking on Heaven's Door by Rocket, but didn't enjoy their version.

I'm going to start the contest to see if there is any interest at all. If I get a few to play I'll keep it going.

For this week pick the 2 bands to be voted off for 5 points each. They won't make the results known until next show, so you have until Friday. If you missed the show, you can probably see any performance on youtube.

My 2 picks are going to be The Hatch and dot dot dot. The Hatch weren't too bad but they went early and didn't stick out enough to get votes. I thought dot dot dot were just unlistenable.

For bonus points pick right now who you think will be the final 3. I'll give 15 points if you have the winner, 10 for each other group you get in the top 3. In the Idol contest last year my sister was the only person I saw who predicted Jordan Sparks would win.

Here are my picks for the order of the show. This is how I THINK, not how I want it to finish. I was going to try to pick the whole top 12, but there are too many with not a good enough body of work to try that!

1. Sixwire..while all the other rock acts split votes, these country guys will sail to top 3.

2. Franklin Bridge..see last comment, but substitute funky groove for country.

3. Clark Brothers.  Unique and super talented. Girls will dig their looks too.

So let me know your top 3 predictions for the end of year, and your 3 to be voted off this week. If I get at least 2 others I'll keep it going!

OK, from the people (me) who brought you the contest about picking football games and American Idol results, comes a new one..for the band version of Idol called "The Next Great American Band."

They already picked a top 12, and will start performing and kicking people off this Friday night..(Fox..8 P.M. eastern time) I don't know if it's going to be 1 a week that gets booted off like Idol or what, so I'm not going to really start any contest rules until next week. Next week I will ask you to give me who you think will be the top 5 by the end of the show, so pay close attention to the performers Friday. That will count for points, then you will get points for predicting who will get voted off every week.

(late note..found out they will eliminate 2 bands each of the first 2 weeks, one a week after that. They will be doing Bob Dylan songs first week, which should be a help to Christian bands if they want to do "Gotta Serve Somebody." )

Here is my rundown of the top 12, based on how I'm gonna root for them, not how I think they will do. That will come next week after I see the groups one more time.

1. Denver and the Mile High Orchestra.  I saw them in the commercial and flipped out that they were even eligible for this show. Turns out as long as you aren't on a record label this minute, you are eligible. Anyway, I just saw this Christian swing band a few weeks ago, so I'm partial to them. They did a fun audition..the mean judge dug them, but thought Denver was like Ned Flanders because he wasn't a lady-killer-type!

1A.  The Clark Brothers.. These guys were even a better witness on the audition show. They are a family of 11 siblings that travel around with their evangelist parents and do tent revivals. They did a great rendition of "This Little Light Of Mine." On this show there is only 3 brothers that perform. They don't have a drummer and bass, but they all jam unbelievable. (late note....just saw they were leading an online poll..Denver was only 9th)

3. Franklin Bridge..This group all became lifelong friends at the Church they attend. They are all African-American, and play a kind of funky rock groove.

The rest of the groups probably don't have Christian roots, but several have good stories.

4. The Muggs..The bass player had a stroke about 6 years ago, and had to relearn how to play bass on the keyboards a few years later. He still has effects of the stroke. The guitar /singer really has awesome licks, but his voice isn't my fave.

5.  Tres Bien..these guys were influenced by the 60's British invasion, and are really true to that style.

6.  Sixwire..A country act that had an album out a few years ago.

7.  Dot Dot Dot...they are a high energy pop/punk act in the vein of a Hawk Nelson. Couple of female members ala Skillet

8.  Cliff Wagner and the old No. 7.  They are a bunch of  guys doing bluegrass. They are talented and likeable, but I'll predict right now they are voted off first.

9.  The Likes of You..no real opinion on them

10.  Rocket....all girl group, not real big on them.

11.  The Hatch...singer seems full of himself to me.

12.   Light of Doom..a bunch of 12 and 13 year old boys doing classic metal. They might go a long way, but the no shirts and song selection I'm not big on. I love Christian metal, but hate secular metal that has a satanic vibe.

After each show I will do my thoughts, except this week I'll be out of town and won't have my comments until a few days later. I will predict who will go and ask you for your thought on who will go. Hope to have a bunch of people play like I did with Idol last Spring. You can look at my archives from the spring to get a feel of what we do.

Here is a picture of Denver and the boys from the concert I went to last month.

What a bunch of exciting finishes. I was expecting my Bills to blow another late lead like usual, but the Ravens did more dumb things than even the Bills at the end. The Bills have 3 games coming up with teams with a combined 3-17 record, maybe they can can weasel back into playoff contention. This week's awards to teams that lost in Bills-type heartbreaking fashion are the Texans and Cards. Houston comes from 25 points down with backup QB in 4th quarter to take a lead, only to let Titans march down and kick a field goal to beat them. Arizona recovers a late onside kick and gets a field goal chance to win it, but long kick sails wide.

The bad news for the Bills is they want to start playing one game a year in Toronto. We are worried that they just move the whole team there when our owner dies. He's 89 now.

Everyone was having a pretty bad week until 6 of you got the 2 points for picking the Colts. I wasn't counting on the Jags QB to get hurt and bring in a guy who was totally awful. I thought the Vikes Tarvaris Jackson was the worst QB I'd ever seen, but this Grey kid of the Jags could give him a run for his money.

Here's the results for last week...Undeserved..(4-1)

Steve and Dougie...(4-2)

Chris, Rebel and Scott...(3-3)

Danielle...(2-4)

Jim and Craig...(1-5)

The standings for the year:

Name             Record      GB

Scott               24-11         --

Steve              21-14         3

Danielle          19-15         4.5

Dougie            19-16          5

Undeserved    16-13          5

Chris               14-11          5

Rebel              16-17          7

Jim                  16-19          8

Craig              15-20          9

Not a very great group of games this week, with only 13 to choose from. I'm going to have 5 games to give people a chance to move up (like me!) As usual, you only have to pick as little as 3 games if you are confident in a few games.

The 2 pointer will be the Monday night game:

Green Bay at Denver.    Will Denver get blown out or win on a last second kick..it seems to be one or the other every week!

the rest of the games:

Jacksonville at Tampa Bay

Detroit at Chicago.   2 unpredictable teams.

Buffalo at New York Jets.   It's my contest, I can have the Bills in it!

Philly at Minnesota.

Like I said, not the most thrilling matchups. Can't wait for New England at Indy in a few weeks.

______________________________________

Congrats to Red Sox for coming back. Cleveland is just about as an unlucky city as Buffalo when it comes to heartbreak. The Rockies will be cooled off by their long wait, I say the Red Sox win the series in 6 games.

I'm gonna have another contest for the show The Next Great American Band in a few days..check for that if you want.

Well, New England really looks unstoppable this year. If the Colts don't beat them, they should go 16-0. Normally teams would rest players at the end, but I think they have a chip on their shoulder for getting caught cheating, so they want to stick it to the rest of the league. Brady should also shatter Manning's TD record for the year.

I needed Redskins, I was the only one who picked them, but they let me down at the end though they outplayed the Packers for much of the game.

I might have a new favorite player..the Vikings Adrian Peterson. The Vikes are my second fave team, and this dude is awesome, running for over 200 yards on the Bears. The dumb coach continues to split his carries with the other running back.

On to this week's results:

1...Danielle...5-0....(17-11 for year)  The birthday girl has a greeeeaaaaatt (Tony the Tiger) week!

Steve...5-0....(17-12)

Dougie...5-0...(15-14)   Both guys bounce back from 0-6 weeks to go perfect!

4...Scott   4-1....(21-8)   Last week I mentioned that Craig was on the cover of CCM..I just noticed Scott also was on when Mat Kearney on the cover. Add to it that I was on when TobyMac was on the cover, and that makes this football contest full of ccm cover boys! Dougie had a letter to the editor recently as well. it's really kind of weird when you think of it! If anyone should be on the cover from our group it's Rebel or Undeserved, someone that is known for great music, not CD reviews.=)

Chris...4-1....(11-8)

6...Rebel...3-2...(13-14)

Jim...3-2...(15-14)

8...Craig...2-3...(14-15)

Undeserved...2-3...(12-12)    Cowboys losing hurt these guys and Craig.

I'll go ahead and put down this week's games early. Don't feel you have to pick the games until later in the week. I usually like to remind everyone by Friday if you haven't made the picks by then. There are a ton of tough games to predict this week, so I'm going to have 5 games and the double pointer, so you can go 6-0 this week. You only have to choose 3, 4 or all 5 games though.

Indianapolis at Jacksonville.  This is the Monday night game, and should be a great matchup. In fact, I will make this the 2 point game. I'm liking J-ville this year, because their new punter is from Rochester.

Pittsburgh at Denver.   This appears to be a mismatch, but Denver at home on a sunday night, and off of a bye week, might make things a little more interesting.

Baltimore at Buffalo.   Can the Bills rebound from a heartbreaking loss to upset the Ravens at home?

Kansas City at Oakland.   This is actually for first place in the wacky AFC west.

Tennessee at Houston.  You might want to wait until you find out if Vince Young is playing for the Titans, of if his leg muscle pull will keep him out. That makes this game really tough to predict!

OK, have fun picking!

My world series pick of Rockies-Indians is looking better and better.

Somebody had the nerve to put up a sign above the donuts at work that said "Jesus Hates the Yankees." So I added.."Jesus LOVES everyone, especially the Yankees!" Someone then crossed out the Yanks and put Red Sox! So before I left tonight I put "You're right, Jesus loves sinners too!" Sorry Craig and Steve! =)

The Jeremy camp concert in Buffalo October 7th was a lot of fun last week. My buddy had a bunch of tickets for his family, and a couple couldn't make it, so my daughter and I went last minute.

Mainstay opened and did a good job, though the smoke alarm came on with all the fog smoke! I would have bought their CD afterwards, but they weren't there to sign it. My friend got it and heard it on way home..pretty cool stuff.

Jeremy's show was acoustic, so it was pretty laid back. He did a lot of fun stuff with the crowd, taking questions, and letting people sing with him. I liked it when someone asked him about what sports he liked and he said he would challenge anyone in Ping Pong. I was city champ in high school, so I would have loved to take him on! The most fun song was a new version of "Jesus Loves Me". I found the video that someone else did about a week earlier in South Carolina on youtube. I'm a complete computer idiot..I tried to put video here, but couldn't, but the BOTTOM of the 2 links below will take you there to see it. I also posted the clip in a bulletin, so you might have seen it there already.

My other song faves were "Beautiful One".."Glory".. "My Desire.. and "Give Me Jesus." He did about 15 songs in all.  I just wish Adie could have been there to sing backup.

Anyway, here is a picture of the show below, and the link.

Hi peeps, I was just wondering how much music you listen to per average a day. This is a community of people who are Christian music lovers, and I was curious how you much, the way you listen, etc.

For me, I probably average 2-3 hours a day. I have my quiet time in the morning, so I don't listen to anything until I go to work. As a mailman, I'm only inside about 2 and a half hours before hitting the road. I still live in the last century, and don't even own a MP3 player. I have a CD player at work and will usually listen to a couple of CD's until 9. Then it's sports radio until I leave, and the first couple of hours on street I continue with our local sports talk show. I will usually catch the first 30 minutes of Jim Rome's show, if I hear he has a good guest I might try to catch that later. For my lunch period I have our local Christian music station on. In afternoon I have my walkman and catch up on Christian shows I record off the radio like Focus on the Family and sermons, as well as my Pastor's sermon's that I miss from teaching sunday school. If I get caught up I might play more music, but I have a harder time delivering and hearing my customers with music on.

At night I'll listen to music online now that I have high speed while I'm on the computer. I like going to youtube now and checking out any band I'm not familiar with in the background. If I hear new bands I like I'll order their CD's through sound and spirit, which cost me about 7 bucks a CD. I also like my peeps music boxes to check out new stuff!

So is 3 hours a day a lot or not? I end up with 3 hours of music, 3 hours of sports, 90 minutes of teaching, maybe one hour of TV unless it's a football game. That leaves 30-60 minutes on computer, and 2 minutes with my family..just kidding..I still spend hours of family time around all this too! I basically only lack in spending time with friends. It was a treat last weekend to go with my friend Steve and his family to Jeremy Camp, and to catch football game at another friends, but I like to dedicate most of my free time to wife and kids. I've never desired to be on any Church board because I hate meetings that take me away from my family.

Well, sorry to bore you..good night!

Well, this was a horrible week once again our gang picking games. We went only 19-36 overall, and that would have been worse if Bills win the game last night. Everyone missed the 2 point game, the Bears over Packers. For my comments on the Bills-Cowboys game, as well as my most heartbreaking games in my life, see blog below.

This week's results, with season totals to follow:

1...Scott...4-2.....(17-7)  He's running away with season lead right now.

Jim...4-2...(12-12)   I finally have a good week.

3...Undeserved...3-3...(10-9) This cool band has a cool record!

4...Danielle..2-3....(12-11)

Rebel...2-3...(10-12)  The ladies are holding their own.

6...Craig.....2-4....(12-12)   Don't feel sorry for Mr. Bacon..he made the cover of this month's CCM=) Check out his review of Everyday Sunday!

7...Chris....1-3...(7-7) Like my Yanks, his baseball team gets eliminated, the Phils.

8...Brian.....1-4....(12-9)

9...Doug...0-6...(10-14)

Steve...0-6....(12-12)   Ouch for these guys! They both had Bills, which would have made them 4-5, and the rest of us 3 games worse who picked that game.

So for season we have Scott, Brian, Danielle and Undeserved as the only one's with winning records.

_________________________________________

This week we will have 4 games. The Sunday night game is a stinker, so the 2 point bonus game will be the epic Patriot-Cowboy game. So here are the 4 games:

New England at Dallas....Cowboys probably looked past the Bills to get to this game.

Washington at Green Bay...Can Farve bounce back from costing everyone 2 games last week?

Tennessee at Tampa Bay

Houston at Jacksonville

There were only 13 games this week, hard to pick games with teams with winning records playing each other!

Have fun..and tell me your most heartbreaking games in the blog below after you pick games here!

P.S....My baseball predictions for first round were pretty good, only missed on the Cubs winning. I'll stick with a Cleveland-Colorado World Series.

Last night was one of the worst sports nights in my life, with my Yankees being eliminated from the playoffs, and at the same time, Buffalo found a way to give up 2 scores in the last 20 seconds and lose to Dallas. This was classic David vs. Goliath. The 1-3 banged up Bills against the undefeated Cowboys. But instead of killing Goliath, Goliath got off the ground and speared David through the heart. The Bills score twice on interceptions, and once on a kickoff return, intercept Tony Romo 5 times, and still blow the game for a variety of stupid decisions late in the game. When I was a kid and I hurt a finger, my brother said he would make me forget the pain, and then step on my foot! It worked, all I could think of was the new pain. That's how I felt last night. I still was in pain over the Yanks, then 5 minutes later I got stomped on the foot! As a Bills fan, I'm used to it. Then when I got home from my friend's, my poor wife had just spent 2 hours solving a problem with our internet security..so her night stunk as well! Forgive me as I indulge over the most heartbreaking games in my life..some involving the Bills. If you would like to comment on what games hurt YOU the most, fell free to comment. The book of James says we gain strength through our trials..so I lean on that! I might be off on exact scores and other small details, I'm going all off the top of my head.

1. Super Bowl 20...1991...Giants 20, Bills 19..Scott Norwood misses a 47 yard field goal at the end. Bills were 7 point favorite's, just came off beating Raiders 51-3 to reach their first Super Bowl, and everyone thought it was in the bag with their high powered no huddle offense led by now Hall of Famer's Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas. They would go on to lose the next 3 Super Bowls, but would never have a chance like this one.

2. Music City Miracle....2000....Titans beat Bills 20-16 in first round of playoffs.  After Doug Flutie led the Bills as QB for 2 years, reserve Rob Johnson beats Colts in meaningless last regular season game. Now it's knowledge that owner  Ralph Wilson orders coach Wade Phillips to play Johnson over Flutie in playoff game. The move looks like it will pay off as Bills kick go ahead field goal with 16 seconds. But on the kickoff, Titans totally fool the Bills my throwing a pass across the field and having a 75 yard run for TD to win it. The pass had to be backwards..you ask everyone in Tennessee and it was, everyone in Buffalo said it went forward! Things have never been the same for Bills since..they started firing coaches in the next 2 years that didn't deserve it, and they haven't sniffed the playoffs since. Titans went on to reach Super Bowl, where they lost a heartbreaker themselves to Rams. The Bills had a great team that year, they could have reached Super Bowl if they won that game.

3.  Red Sox come from down 3 games to beat Yankees to win pennant...2004...The Yanks were the only team I root for that ever wins anything. It was always just a given they would beat the arch rival Red Sox. When they won game 3 19-8 for the first time in my life I felt sorry for my Boston friends. But Boston wins the next 2 games on last at bat hits by David Ortiz, and blow out Yankees final 2 games, and go on to win the World Series for the first time since 1918. Yanks haven't won a playoff series since.

4.  No Goal game...1999... The Buffalo Sabres are in the Stanley cup finals against Dallas..(that city again!) They are down 3 games to 2 trying to win at home to force a final game 7. Brett Hull has a foot in the crease, which you can't do, and scored the series clinching goal in third overtime. About 200 people (just kidding) show up for parade in who cares about hockey city of Dallas, we would have had 200,000 for a championship team in our title starved city. The Sabres returned to semi-finals the last 2 years, but haven't reached the finals since.

5  Super Bowl 9 1975...my other fave team, the Vikings, lose to Steelers 16-6.  Like the Bills, the Vikes would lose 4 Super Bowls in a short time. This wasn't a great game, but it was the only one they had a chance going in 4th quarter. My teams are 0-8 in Super Bowls.

6..I'd have to slot last night's loss to Dallas this far up there. A win puts them in a remote wild card contention, now they will be playing out the string for last 3 months of year, which gets me depressed.

I could easily go on and on, but I won't, about strange and heartbreaking losses the Bills have managed the past few years, including this year's opener to Denver on last second kick after about 5 players get hurt and a potential  life threatening spinal injury to Kevin Everett. He continues to make great progress though.

OK, which our yours?

Wow..what a baseball game last night. If you read yesterday's blog I said if the Rockies won I was picking them to win the World Series..now I'm really thinking they are a team of destiny..but you can say the same for the Phillies..what a great matchup!

Anyway, on to this week's games! I will go back to having 4 games with the Sunday night game being worth 2 points, plus a bonus game. Here they are:

Sunday Night special...Chicago at Green Bay.  If Bears lose this game they can call it a year..maybe Scott's 1-15 prediction won't be far fetched!

San Diego at Denver...2 teams that have been a disappointment both need a win badly.

Jacksonville at Kansas City...2 teams that have been surprises..on the good side.

Detroit at Washington.....2 more surprising teams.

Actually, for a fun bonus, I will do the monday night game of David vs.Goliath...Buffalo at home against Dallas! If you want to play this game, you'll get one point if you pick Dallas and they win, but you will lose 3 points if they lose. If you have the guts to pick the lowly Bills, I'll give you 4 points if they win, only 1 point for a loss.

Once again, you can just pick just 3, 4 or all 5 of the above games, whatever you are most confident in. Have fun!

Wow..what a crazy week in football..only 4 out of 13 favorites won this week. Maybe the Bengals will upset the Patriots tonight. I did pretty good going 7-6 in my pick every game contest. I hit on a few upsets like the Browns and the Bills. The Bills have a good looking rookie QB in Trent Edwards..if he can look good against the Cowboys next Monday night maybe we have a little hope for the future. Being a Little House on The Prairie fan, I've always been a fan of Mr. Edwards!

San Diego keeps going in the tank..how can they lose at home to the Chiefs? Tony Romo keeps impressing me in Dallas..how bout that scramble for a first down after the ball was snapped 30 yards over his head? Congrats to Brett Favre for breaking Dan Marino's TD record.

Well, here's how we did in this weeks contest. Overall we had a losing record!

1...Steve..4-1.....(12-6 for the year)  He keeps telling me at church that he's not really following football that close yet this year..yet he's making the rest of us look like the uninformed!

2...Jim...3-2....(8-10)

Scott...3-2......(13-5)   another solid week for our overall leader.

Chris...3-2....(6-4)

Danielle....3-2.....(10-8)   Picking the Giants saved you and Steve

6...Brian...2-3.....(11-5)

Doug...2-3.........(10-8)

Rebel.....2-3.....(8-9)   She had the funniest comments with her picks, along with Doug!

9...Undeserved...1-3....(7-6)

10....Craig...1-4 ...(10-8) Last week the penthouse, this week the outhouse!

I'll have next weeks game posted soon..I'll post a bulletin when ready.

What a finish to the baseball season too! The poor Mets really went into the tank. I'd like to see the Rockies win the wild card playoff game tonight because they have a ton of Christians on that team. If they win, I have them going all the way to the world series. If they lose, it will be Philly-Cubs advancing, with Phillies over the Cubs to the World Series.

In the American League my beloved Yanks came from way back to make the playoffs, but I don't have a good feeling facing the Indians, unless they can get to their bullpen early. I regret to pick Clevelandn over Yanks, then to beat Boston to get to the World Series..where they will beat the Phillies or lose to the Rockies.

Talk to you all later..Jim
