OK, it's time to unveil this week's games to predict! Like the show Survivor, I'm gonna add a little twist!

There was the usual 4 games that stood out to me, but I promised Dougie to have his Bronco's against the Colts game, and that looks like a too easy game to pick. So what I decided to do was to add that game and have 5 games to pick..but there will be no double point games this week. You can choose to pick 3, 4 or all 5 games. The twist will be if you pick the Colts-Bronco's game. If you pick the Bronco's and get it right, you will get 2 points, but only one point if you are wrong. If you pick the Colts you will get only one point if you are right, but you will lose 2 points if you're wrong! How's that for a twist? Skip the game if you don't want to chance it =)

So here are the games:

Denver at Indianapolis...as explained above

Chicago at Detroit......which team will bounce back from stinker's last week?

Tampa Bay at Carolina....with the Saints falling apart this game will be for control of that division!

Seattle at San Francisco....another game to see who takes control of their division.

Philadelphia at New York Giants....both teams saved their season with wins last week, who keeps their momentum?

Have fun deciding!

One more comment on last night's game. Buffalo might not be this year's flop team, it could be the Saints. Boy, have they completely fallen from last year's feel good story! How about the Titan's Vince Young? He lost so much talent around him, yet he continue's to amaze me with his playmaking ability. The guy is a flat out winner. I think they make the playoffs this year.

Hi everyone...another interesting week of football games! I see a lot of you guys fave teams are off to good starts..except me:( I think the Bills are so beat up with injuries they have a good chance of going like 2-14. I like what I'm seeing with the Cowboys..Tony Romo might be dumb for breaking up with Carrie Underwood, but the man is an exciting football player. Wade Phillips did a great job coaching the Bills..he got a bum rap when they lost in playoffs, but they haven't even been to the playoffs since he left in 2000. So I'm glad he's doing well in place of Bill Parcels, who I didn't care for.

Brett Favre looks like he has found the fountain of youth. If the Packers win the next 2 games against Vikes and Bears they could run away with the division.

What's wrong with the Chargers? 2 words...Norv Turner. The man is an awful head coach. They should have never fired Marty after going 14-2 last year. Sure, Marty can't win in the playoffs..but don't replace him if all you have to choose from is Turner!

It's bad enough the cheating Patriots are world beaters this year..but did Vince Wilfork have to cheap shot Bills QB J.P. Losman on the first play, knocking him out for a while? I was happy for a minute when backup QB Trent Edwards looked good for a series..but if a Bill did that to Tom Brady there would be outrage across the league.

Glad to see fellow believer Kurt Warner come in and almost pull out a miracle comeback for the Cardinals. He was a lousy host of the Dove awards, but he still has a little football in him!

Speaking of miracles...Bills Kevin Everett is really coming along great. They moved him to a hospital near his home in Houston, and he is showing increased movement in all his arms and legs.

This is fun, I'm feeling like a sportswriter! Anyway, here's how everyone did this week. I'm gonna list them in order of how you did this week, with your season total afterwards. That's a little harder to put in order because a few missed a few weeks, some might only pick 3 games instead of 4, and so on, so the games picked are a little uneven. At the end of the year I will put everyone in order based on your percentage of games right, as long as you don't miss more than 3 weeks. I will continue in the playoffs, where all the games will be worth double.

This weeks order:

1..Craig...5-0   great job!  (9-4 for season)

2...Brian...3-0  didn't record his bonus game..but he had the Cowboys so he should have gone 5-0.  (9-2 for year)

3...Scott...4-1.....(10-3 for year)

3...Undeserved...4-1.....(6-4)

5...Danielle....3-2....(7-6)

5...Chris....3-2....(3-2)

7...Rebel...2-2..didn't pick Charger game...(6-6)

8..Dougie...2-3...(8-5)

8...Steve....2-3....(8-5)

8..Jimmy the stink...2-3....(5-8)..I'm almost worse than the Bills!

Hey which of you is in the national pool as IGNITE? I know Craig, Steve, Dougie and Brian are playing..but don't know who IGNITE is..he's a Chief's fan..all I know..fess up! I'm thinking it's Scott.

I'll have next week's games to choose from tuesday..I haven't made up my mind yet. I know I promised Dougie Broncos-Colts..but they might be too easy since it's in in Indy. I like to have games that people split on. Come back tomorrow for the games!..Jim

Hi football fans! Last weeks decision to have 4 games and a bonus point for sunday night worked just like I wanted it to. We have people going everywhere from 4-1 to 1-4. 2 of the games were upsets, including last night's game where only Danielle picked Washington. Your's truly had a terrible week, going 1-4, and my Bills are looking awful. They might only win 2 or 3 games this year with their injury ravaged defense and inept offense. San Diego really let me down in the bonus game. The game against the New England Cheaters..er..Patriots was over after 20 minutes. This week Buffalo might lose 51-0 against the Pats:(

So here are the standings. I'm gonna allow a grace of missing 3 weeks during the course of the year..so for those just joining it's fine, and for everyone else if you forget a week or two it's cool. I will put the total record first, and how you did last week  after that.

1. Steve..  6-2 total....3-2 last week

1. Dougie...6-2...........3-2

1...Scott...6-2.............4-1

1. ..Brian...6-2............4-1

5....Rebel...4-4............3-2

5...Danielle...4-4..........3-2

5....Craig......4-4...........1-4

8....Undeserved....2-3.....2-3

9...Jim.............3-5..........1-4    you can't accuse me of cheating!

This week has some interesting games that could go either way..here are the 4 games I have chosen:

Sunday night (Worth 2 points)  Dallas at Chicago

Cincinnati at Seattle

Indianapolis at Houston

San Diego at Green Bay

Comments..I never would have thought Colts-Texans would be a good matchup, but both teams are 2-0, and it's in Houston. Rebel, will you pick the home team?

Chargers have been a little off their game, should be interesting going on the road to Green Bay!

Sunday night should be classic great offense of Dallas against the terrific Bears defense.

The other games I was debating picking were Jags-Broncos (sorry Doug) and Detroit-Philly. I just thought Seattle-Bengals was a classic 50-50 game.

OK, have fun, and if you know anyone else who wants to play, it's not too late!

God Bless..Jimmy the Geek

hi y'all..first of all, thanks for the prayers for the Bills Kevin Everett..who had the terrible spinal injury Sunday. Today the doctor's are reporting that he is showing some movement, and for the first time are hoping he might have a chance to walk again afterall..keep praying for him!

For this week's games, I'm gonna add a little twist..if it goes well I'll do it the rest of year. I will still give you 4 games to choose from. But I will give you the option if you want to pick all 4 games, or just 3 like last week. I will also have the Sunday night game be the feature game every week..if you choose that game, it will be worth either 2 wins or 2 losses if you want to take a risk on it! So if you pick all 4 games and get the Sunday night game right, you can have a record of 5-0 for the week and make up ground. Of course, you might go 0-5 and fall way behind=)

This week's games:

The Sunday night extra value game...San Diego at New England. This should be an awesome game, and a tough one to predict!

the other 3 will be: (there isn't many good games this week)

Washington at Philadelphia (monday night game)

Green Bay at New York Giants

Dallas at Miami

there are no games until Sunday, so you have all week to decide. Leave your picks in comment box below!

Now, for anyone interested in doing a nationwide contest with prizes, where you pick every game, go to http://nwng.profootball.upickem.net You can still join this contest because at the end of the year, they eliminate your 4 worst weeks, so the week you missed will be one of the 4. There is also a prize for best weekly predictions..you usually have to go 15-1 or 16-0 to have a chance! (I went 12-4 the first week)

if you do this and want to be in a private group with my friends, where we compete against each other and give each other a little clean trash talking, do this:

after you log in for the contest, click on "my groups" tag.

then click on "join a private group"

submit the following:

Your group name: Great Lakes Unathletic Association

your Password: Ellazakitt

This is really a lot of fun. Hope some of you will give it a try, hoping it lets Dougie from England to do it as well!

One more thing..Daughtry is gonna be either on Letterman or the CBS show that follows it Wednesday night. Someone told me last week and I forgot which one..DVR both shows if you like him!

OK, here are the standings after the first week picking games!

First place..Doug, Craig, and Steve..all 3-0

Brian, Jim and Scott all went 2-1

Rebel and Danielle went 1-2

The 3 games i had for Sundat were good choices, as they were all close most of the way. Bears offense looked bad, as so did the Giants defense.

The Bills suffered a tough last second loss, but that isn't anything when compared to the serious spinal injury to special teams player Kevin Everett. The latest news is he is still in a life threatening condition, and he probably won't be able to ever walk again. Please keep in your prayers for a miracle recovery.

I'll have next weeks 4 games to choose from on Wednesday! Take care!

Wow..the Bills start in 10 minutes and I realized I forgot to make my predictions for 2007!

First, thanks to all who are playing in my contest..I love when peeps start talking to each other in the comments, talking some cool trash!

I'm having a hard time picking my Super Bowl teams. New England always looks good, but defense took some hits and Randy Moss is never good for chemistry. San Diego has all the talent, but their new coach Norv Turner is horrible. Colts are very thin behing starters. In the NFC, the Bears are still unsettled with Rex Grossman.

So anyway..my playoff teams"

NFC: Division winners..Eagles..Bears...Carolina...49er's

wild card: Dallas and Saints

AFC: Division winners..New England..Pittsburgh..Indy..San Diego

wild Cards...Denver and Bills (I need a Miracle pick!)

Super Bowl...Indy over Carolina

am I nuts? Give me your Super Bowl predictions!

Later...Jimmy the Geek

OK, I got enough interest to start this thing!

Every week I'll put down 4 games, based on a combination of an interesting game, plus a game that could go either way to make the picking difficult! Choose 3 from this list, and in  the comment box below make your predictions...(Broncos over Bills) You can make your picks in my inbox, but I'd prefer here so everyone can see your picks. I'll keep a running total throughout the year. I'll have my picks in the comment box too!

The Colts-Saints game is the game of the week, but it's Thursday so you have to pick quickly if that is one of your choices. If you read this after thursday, you can still pick the other 3 games this week. Those games will be:

Denver at Buffalo  (I'm in Bills country, and my peep Doug is a Broncos fan..have to have this one! )

New York Giants at Dallas

Chicago at San Diego

In a few days I'll have a blog on my predictions for the year..feel free to eave your thoughts on that one too.

Thanks!..Jimmy the Geek
