In the next day or two I hope to do an exclusive "Q and A" with Hawk Nelson. In the meantime, here is a picture of Jason. This was taken by Chuck Frey, who has AWESOME concert photo's of tons of groups. His myccm addressis www.myccm.org/electroman/profile and his regular home page is www.chuckfrey.com

One American Idol note, I see someone with my last name made it to Hollywood the other day, Chris Richardson. If he sings as well as I do, he has no chance!=)

OK, here is the picture.

I was so happy to see the Colts beat the Pats the other day. Manning played great, so hopefully he can now win the Super Bowl to prove his greatness. But I was most impressed with coach Tony Dungy, who along with the owner gave praise to the Lord over the air for all to hear. With Dungy though, it wasn't grandstanding like some athletes. He has been living out his faith for over a decade as the coach of the Bucs and the Colts. You never see him lose his cool, and when he lost his son in a tragic way last year he never lost his faith. They say nice guys finish last, but I pray that Dungy will be the exception and finally win the big game that has eluded him.

Great American Idol tonight...love the homeless guy singing the Johnny Cash song. Several other feel good stories as well...the shy background singer who had great chops, and the 2 family guys whose wives just gave birth. These are the type of people you can root for. Plus they really didn't make too much fun of anyone tonight. An hour long show is much more tight.

The new owners of Heidi are having a tough time with their kids being afraid of her. Keep praying it works out because we can't take her back. Our cats have never been happier.

Got my tickets to the Delirious and Rebecca St. James concert. Artist circle too...first 5 rows only! Will have great pictures from that show!

Swithfoot will be on shortly, will tape it and give review next time. Hope they do "Oh Gravity" By far the best song on the CD. It hasn't been selling like the last 2 CD's so this appearance might give it a little boost.

For you Hawk Nelson fans, I'm working on an exclusive interview, just like I did with Leeland a few months ago.

Hey all Switchfoot fans...saw in TV Guide they will be on Jay Leno Tuesday night!

Well, we finally sold Heidi today. The family was going back and forth, so we put an add in the paper. She was really chasing after the cats and it was getting worse. We had to gate off the basement. Anyway, after putting the ad in paper, the family decided they would take her. It was a blessing to all, because they are a homeschool family who just moved here. We made some new friends and will be able to see the dog, and even babysit if they go away. Plus they felt bad for taking so long to decide, so they gave us $300 instead of $175! That almost covers all the costs we had put into the dog. Our washing machine just needed to be replaced, plus my root canal coming up, so that was a blessing.

As soon as the dog was gone our cats came out of the basement and are friendlier than ever. We even got a few small fish to make the kids and cats feel better.

Have to call my shots before big games tomorrow. Saints 27, Bears 24. I hate to go against my brother who lives in Chicago, but the Saints are too good a story.

I also want the Colts in the worst way, but I can't go against Tom Brady in a big game. Pats 20, Colts 16.

American Idol update...only seen one Christian song sung..."His Eyes Are on the Sparrow", by the nice lady whose husband is serving in Iraq. I loved the brother and sister from India. Our church plants churches in India, so I always am interested in India culture.  That girl Jordan Sparks, whose dad played football, looks like a potential top 12 pick. See my boy Daughtry is back up to #3 on the album charts.

Chris Tomlin's song has been #1 for 14 weeks now. It's a great song, but do Christian charts ever change much? I swear, I could play 20, the countdown show from 2 months ago, and I bet it would have 15 of the same songs that are in the top 20 now. I want to hear what's new!!

I've been asked what happened to my lists...I have about 10 great idea's, just haven't had time to do them. If things return to normal now I will have more time. Thing about a dog is you just want to be with them! Take care everyone=)

Quite a weekend. Great football games. My hope for a Charger-Saints is gone. Now I would like to see the Colts finally make it to play the Saints. How can you not feel good for the city of New Orleans. I'm hoping Payton Manning can finally reach the Super Bowl, but I'll have to predict Brady and his Patriots will find a way to get it done once again.

Now for some prayer requests. My father-in-law had to go for a cardiac checkup, and they found lots of problems. They performed surgery this morning after putting in 3 stents in the blocked area's. The surgery went well and he'll be staying overnight as he recovers.

I went to the dentist for a few fillings, and told them about some pain I've had next to my nose for a few months. They x-rayed it and figured I will need a root canal. I'm going to a specialist next Monday to get it confirmed. We don't have dental insurance, so that will be an unexpected expense.

As for the dog, the family that was interested said they will probably buy her from us. We keep having mixed feelings, but the main thing is we haven't really been able to relax since we got her. Than tonight she finally lost her fear of the basement and went chasing after the cats. Now we have to gate it and the cats will really feel like prisoners. I really miss them sitting on my lap and cuddling. Now we really hope that they will buy her. We appreciate all your prayers on these matters!

Focus on the Family's plugged-in  had a nice write up on Daughtry's CD, so I'm not the only Christian "critic" who likes it. I am really enjoying that Delirious DVD too!

Take care everyone!

Wrote last week about Heidi coming home. as some of you know, we are having a tough time deciding what to do. She is a fantastic dog. After the second day she hasn't had an accident. We don't have to crate her because she sleeps like a baby at the foot of our bed, and stays in the bathroom without destoying anything when we are gone. She is funny goofy, trying to bury her chew bones all over the house if she can't take them out. What's the problem? My wife is a nervous wreck about the cats. They are usually so friendly, but now they stay in basement. Fortunately, the dog is afraid to go upstairs or downstairs, so the cats have refuge places. When Heidi does spot them she wants so badly to play with them. We know she wouldn't hurt them on purpose, but Sue gets nervous. We also forgot how having a dog is like having another toddler. She is lots of love, but it takes up a lot of time. Anyway, Sue put out a notice to the homeschool group if anyone would be interested in her if things didn't work out, and a family that just moved to area is going to check her out. In a way we hope they don't like her so we don't have to think about giving her up as an option. But it would be nice to have a family willing to buy her if things don't work out. We could use your prayers for wisdom. The cats are starting to slowly sneak upstairs at times on their own, so that's a start!

Just got the Kutless and Delirious CD/DVD's today. Boy, are they both awesome. I LOVE it when groups put a full concert on both the CD and DVD for the same price. I hate it when you only get a mini-concert, (Casting Crowns, Amy Grant), or have to buy the 2 things seperately.(Petra, Amy Grant etc.) This really pumps me up for the Delirious concert in March!

Take care everyone!

Everything went well with the adoption, and we brought Heidi home today. She is the sweetest, calmest dog you could want=) If we could only get the cats from being terrified everything would be better. She still needs to be a little better housebroken as well. Now we'll see how she does in her crate sleeping in our bedroom.

Finally, a good concert is coming in March...Delirious and Rebecca St. James! Interesting combination.

Here is a picture of Heidi...I also posted a new one in my photo's.

Wow! After my blog last night about looking for a dog, the Lord may have already answered our prayers!

Yesterday I won tickets to the Rochester Knighthawks lacrosse game Jan. 13th! If you get the VS network, look for me that night=)

Anyway, I had to go downtown to pick them up at the radio station, so I figured I might as well check the animal shelter that we got one of our cats that was around the corner. I couldn't believe when I saw this beautiful 10 month lab that they just picked up as a stray. I called my wife to come down with the kids, (good thing we homeschool), and they all loved her as well. She is super friendly, would just need obedience classes to curb her behavior a bit! We just have to wait until Thursday to make it official, to make sure no one calls to claim her as their lost dog. Then they would have it spayed and stuff. All for $115, which is not bad for having all the shots and spayed. The only one's not thrilled were the cats. Will probably take a little used to getting along. By the way, just posted a couple of funny pictures of them in my photo section. They both are models and bring home extra income to help out=o)

Here is a picture of the dog to keep in prayer for. They named her Daisy, but we don't have to keep that.

What a better day to put a U2 lyric in a blog title?

Hope you all had a great New Year's. We had fun bowling with the kids then fellowship at a friend's house til midnight.

Now we start looking more seriously for a dog. Our cats are OK, but we've had a void since our beloved Border Collie mix Mandy died suddenly of a blood clot a few years ago. A friend offered us his 18 month old English Chocolate lab last month, because it needs a home to exercise. A great dog, but already 40 pounds overweight with one ACL surgery a year ago. Our vet said we would be taking a chance money wise with him. Sue's friend heard that story and offered us a sheltie that she breeds for free, we would just have to fly it up from Maryland. So that is a good option. There is something about rescuing a mutt from a shelter that appeals to us though. We have seen a bunch online for the local shelters, but the good one's are snatched up fast. We would appreciate your prayers on picking just the right one that is good with kids and cats.

Let me offer my prayers to the family of President Ford. I have another day off at the Post Office Tuesday as we observe his passing. Will make for a busy day Wednesday as we have 3 days worth of mail backed up.

Wacky football season. I'm rooting for a Saints-Chargers Super Bowl right now. How ironic that after the city of New Orleans picked on Bush, that a Bush, (Along with Brees), might help them get to the promised land!

No music takes on this blog. I'm just going to see if this thing that my brother sent me will publish. It's a bunch of classic Christian album covers and pictures from the early days. For you oldtimers like me, see how many you owned. Wow..Petra, Randy Stonehill, Phil Keaggy, Larry Norman..great memories! TTYL...Jim
