What's the craziest dream you've ever had? (keep it clean!)

What do vampires and Lloyd Christmas have to do with each other?.....
Posted by: Andi Lynne  on June 26, 2007 at 5:32PM EST

My dream, apparently. I just had the weirdest dream last night. It started out as any ordinary dream would for me, vampires and all. In it, this vampire out of a novel I"m currently working on was talking to these homeless people he visited every week. God was totally throwing ideas for the book at me, but all the sudden, when the vampire went to leave, the dream changed, and instead of the vampire, it was Lloyd Christmas who was the main character!!! He was dressed in the ninja outfit he wore in Dumb and Dumberer (The scene he wears it in was in the deleted scenes, actually, if I remember right)! He was all "This is my favorite outfit ever! I'm gonna go show Anne!" (Anne was the vampire's girlfriend!)

It was so random.........

okay, first off, this could easily be just a rambling thoughts dream -- especially with so much on your mind about your new book project. So take everything I say very lightly and be sure to ask the Lord about whether it is something significant or not.

Your dream is actually two dreams, both saying the same thing. Basically, your new project is important to you, and you are looking for a place of acceptance for it, a place where it will be welcomed and pleasing to the people that will read it. That's all very natural feelings for a writer. Quite often our dreams simply tell us where our thoughts or emotions are so we can see things more clearly and deal with situations better. Not a big deal, just something God puts in us to sort our many thoughts and stresses thru the day.

The first dream about the vampire would be very different for me, because vampires freak me out. But they seem to be something you are comfortable with, so I don't think it is representing something evil. I think it is actually just representing your book. It is hanging with some familiar friends who also know what it is to search for somewhere to fit in, a home. Perhaps you are wondering how your book will be received.

The second dream begins when the dream jumps. Again Lloyd is representing your book or perhaps your hopes for your book. And again, it has presented it's best self and is looking for someone that will affirm it or be pleased by it. Every author hopes that his work will be enjoyed by someone.

So any way, I think the Lord is simply revealing your heart concerning your writing. That it is a part of you, and that your motive is to create something that people can relate to or be effected by. If any of this strikes a chord with you, I'd still take it lightly. It's not like a big revelation or anything. Just take a breath and resolve to be patient with whatever happens with your writing. Don't set yourself up for disappointment, but don't think more highly of yourself than you should when your book is on the best seller list someday ^_^

Hope this helps as you go to the Lord with it all.
Blessings.
