What's the craziest dream you've ever had? (keep it clean!)

Quite Sure This Was Prophetic
Posted by: Melissa Shychuk on June 27, 2007 at 9:54AM EST
A while back I had a dream that really scared me. I've not had many that actually scared me to the point that I woke up afraid. In my dream I was at a festival in my town. My brother was talking to some of his friends on a bridge nearby. I "remembered" saying something to these people that they didn't like. One of them pushed my brother off of the bridge and I ran to catch him. I caught him and I woke up with me arms in that position, as though I was holding someone. I honestly was afraid to move my arms b/c I thought I was holding him. I fell back asleep and went back into my dream. I was now at my grandmother's house in the town I live in(its not really there).  The people in my town were now possessed by two of the people that had been on the bridge with my brother. Long story short, I had to cast demons out of all the people. Most of them where people who had been dead, dug up and possessed by demons. It was very scary and I am quite sure that there was something prophetic about it.

First, I need you to consider something... what if there was a five-year-old little girl and her uncle? What if the uncle couldn't pay his rent? Would you scream at the little girl and punish her for it? of coarse not.

You must remember two things. We can never assume responsibility for the outcome of things. We can only petition God to intervene according to his wisdom and mercy in the whole situation. He sees the big picture and juggles many hearts in the big and in the small. God is ultimately in control of everything, not us."

The second thing is that God never gives a dream to cause us to fear. He gives a dream to encourage or guide us. If he is revealing things or warning us in a dream, we should never be afraid, because it means that he knows exactly what is going on and he is working on our behalf to bring good things from it.

Having said all that, I think your dream is also two dreams speaking to the same thing. I think God is wanting you to cover your brother with extra prayer, maybe even fast from something for him for a week. Give up soda or gum or cookies or something you eat several times a day. And every time you crave it for that week, let the craving cause you to immediately intercede for your brother to be strong against temptation or attack. At the end of that week, pray and ask God to seal that time of fasting. And even after that fast has ended, God will look back on that time and honor it.

In both dreams you are representing prayer and God's will for your brother's life. There is some temptation or situation that is trying to hinder his walk. He is on a bridge, which represents a journey to get to the otherside of something, to overcome, or to accomplish something. The people on that bridge represent whatever it is that is in opposition to God's will for your brother's life. That is why they hate you. You represent the Word of God, Truth spoken. Your prayers are a covering for your brother, even if the two of you actually say very little about it all to one another. Prayer is key in this. You caught your brother. Your prayers have great power, don't ever let the enemy convince you that they are small or ineffective. They are a safety and a protection for him in the name of Christ.

The second dream also reveals the same warning that your brother is being attacked or tempted by something from his past, something that was laid to rest long ago but that is looking for an open door into his life again. The fact that is was in your grandmother's house makes me think that there is some kind of connection with either a ministry/sin that keeps being birthed in every other generation of your family, or that the stronghold of this thing in your brother's life involves someone in your parent's or grandparent's generation.

Perhaps, there is a call upon your brother's life that was upon many others in your family line, and the enemy keeps attacking them in the same area of their lives to hinder their effectiveness in fulfilling that call. Perhaps God is saying that that stronghold will be broken by your brother or in your brother's generation. idk. Either way, you cannot dwell too heavily on anthing that I have said. Don't let the enemy play with your imagination or what-if's. You must stay focused on trusting God and knowing that he is ultimately watching over all things. As Christ often said so many times in Scripture, DO NOT BE AFRAID. DO NOT BE ANXIOUS. even though you are tempted to be.

The story about the little girl is you. Whatever happens concerning your brother, no matter how much or how little you pray or do, the outcome will never be about you. You are as responsible for the outcome as that little girl was for paying her uncle's rent. You're not responsible.

Your intercession is an act of love. A contribution from the whole 80 cents in your piggy bank to try to help him get his rent paid. But when your Father sees your heart for your brother to sacrifice and labor in such a way, it moves him to give your brother every additional chance to choose what is right and good.

Lord I pray that you cover all that I have said. That you would let anything that is not from you fall to the ground and be forgotten. But Father if you are confirming things, then I pray that you would let not fear overcome Melissa. I pray that you would give her peace and clarity as she prays for her brother and acts as a covering for him.

Father, make her brother strong to resist temptation, heal any hurts from his past that the enemy may be trying to rip the scab off of, give him strong discernment to see the attempt of the enemy to entice him away from your perfect will for his life. Watch over this family. Let them be anxious for nothing. Remind them with power that you are in control of all things and that you were working on their behalf long before Melissa even had this dream.

Thank you Lord that your will will be done in the lives of this brother, this sister, and this family. Thank you that the enemy flee's in terror at the mention of your name, Jesus. And thank you for the right to enter into battle with such authority and power to fight for the people that we love.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus with trusting hearts full of faith in You Father. Amen <3

My friend! I've had dreams recently that involved me casting out demons as well! Maybe God could be telling us to use this great power that is in us through Jesus' name and not be afraid (miraculous healing, casting out demons, etc). I felt a sort of shudder go down my spine when I read this--which I feel so often when God is in my presence. God is so awsome, Selahgirl you're wisdom and great gift of prayer are a big blessing--cherish them :)

Wow, reading that was great, I feel like God wanted me to read that because I usually overlook anything longer than one paragraph. That passage brought up unwanted memories of fear that I have been pushin to the side rather than completely overcoming and that maybe God's way of saying "hey you shouldn't be afraid anymore"..So I do believe I have some praying to do.
