Hey Justin, I agree that those kind of dreams are not fun... But I think the focus may be in the very beginning of the dream. You were at boot camp and you did very well. Then when you faced combat (you and your friends) you felt like you were overwhelmed and that the enemy was just too powerful.
I don't know what you have going on in your life or in your walk, but I think perhaps you may be going thru some kind of transition. Like maybe you are being asked to carry more responsibility or challenged to step out in faith in something. It's kind of like taking that first step out onto the water.
Whatever the case, it would be good if you talked with someone that would remind you of how powerful you are as a child of God. How that God walks beside you and hands you everything you need to win, and he enables you (makes you skilled) in ways that will allow you to do things that you feel are bigger than you.
You need to write some verses about the power and promises that God has given specifically to you. Put them on notecards, hang them in key places like your bathroom mirror or by your bed or in your notebook. Write them in sharpie on your shoes. haha.
Get them in your heart and ask God to increase your Faith so that they would become as real as the sun in the sky or the moon in the night. God's promises are for real. You can do everything and anything that he says you can. Start with Philippians 4:13. Then the verses that say that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Pray and ask Him for more.
Stay connected to God every way you can, live life, and just do the best you can do. When you have to face an enemy or take on something that you may feel a little nervous about (or maybe petrified about)... God will help you. You will not be alone. You are a powerful man of God. Claim that, own it. Because it is Truth.
Being a Christian, just living life, takes courage.
You make the choice to commit all things to Christ, and he will give you the courage to be successful. Your faith is what pleases him. You know all this already. You just need people in your life to remind you of what you already know. Start with what God says about you, and then find a mentor or a friend that is solid in their walk.
Hope this helps.
O and when you get those verses together, come back and post them so others can be empowered and encouraged by them. It may just be that God is calling you to be courageous because he is wanting you to lead others.
