The Waiting...

When you want something you want it now.
I've often referred to our world today as a "fast food society" because
we are consumed with having all our desires right now. We want the
perfect house or the biggest car or the fancy HDTV with surround sound
stereo system. We want it NOW!
"They who wait for the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings like
eagles; they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
I know it may seem weird to look at this verse in the context of what I
said about "stuff" but in reality all things depend on our waiting for
the Lord to reveal His plan in His time. Jump ahead of God and things
will go crazy before you realize what is going on. The car you thought
you could afford suddenly is too expensive to maintain. The big screen
TV you bought fell down and the corner chipped off but the warranty
just ended.
If we just wait for Him and make sure that something is His will then
we will not have to worry about how we're going to pay the bills or
feed the children or repair the roof. God has already figured those
things out and we just need to listen to Him and His guidance.
