I know I normally only post Monday through Friday but I felt God tell
me to write this today. So I hope some of you check in during the
weekend!
This verse just jumped off the page to me after God said to look for "life" inside His book...
"And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son." - 1 John 5:11 (ESV)
I've been around some people professing to be Christians who are trying
to make people believe that everyone goes to heaven and that a
profession of Christ while on Earth isn't necessary to get there. As I
read that verse, it just reaffirms to me that God made it very clear
that unless you are in Jesus...in other words, unless you've professed
your faith in Him and made Him your Lord...you cannot have eternal
life. (In this passage, eternal life is referring to eternity in
heaven.)
Eternal life is in Jesus. Jesus only.
