Asked by: *The*Learner*Of*Lessons*  on January 9, 2008 at 12:28PM EST
Why is it so hard for some people...like me to say that I'm going to do something and make it happen....is that me not putting the work into it?...for exmaple eating healthy I can never do it...I say no more junk food but, it never fails I eat me a huge bowl of icecream. Another problem I have is reading the Bible daily which is important but I'm so discouraged with myself because it never happens like I want it to...something comes up and I'm always making excuses never accomplishing what I truly want to accomplish...what can help me I have the motivation..I'm lacking something to keep me on track....

Pray to God that He will keep you on track so you can succeed with your goals like eating healthy or even reading your Bible. God is there for you and He can help you with this. Just pray to Him and He will help you through the Holy Spirit. Trust and believe in God because He is a awesome God who is willing to help you with any problems that you have. So start praying as soon as you can because God can help you by answering your prayers and giving you all of the motivation to stay on track with your goals. Just my advice to you and I hope it helped.

I think it's also important to recognize that Satan is attacking you as you try to pursue health and studying God's word. When you hear the voices telling you that you can't read the Bible and you don' t have enough time to read the Bible, those are Satan's words. Also, an important thing about eating healthy is moderation. You don't need to deprive yourself of ice cream, just don't eat it all the time and don't eat a lot the times that you do eat it.
Know that when you purposely take the time to seek God and His word, He will reward you. What I've started doing is getting up a half hour early each day to reach the Bible. That way nothing else in my day can prevent me from reading. And, since I've made the effort to get up early, God has blessed me with great rest at night. I'm not tired all day long either; it's great.

If you have trouble giving into laziness and that kind of thing, if you think you can't help eating junk food and ignoring God, remember that He always makes a way out of temptation. . .we just don't choose to take it.
