In your opinion, what does it mean to be a Christian?
Do you have to be as good as possible? I mean I'm going to heaven anyways so why does it matter?

Being a Christian is having a relationship with God which involves praying to God, reading your Bible which is God's word, worshipping God, and letting God use you where ever you go. Also being a Christian is telling people about God or Jesus who don't know about God or Jesus. These people would be unbelievers or non- Christians. So that is what it means to be a Christian. Being good won't get you into Heaven just doing what God wants you to do in your life will make God think that you were following Him instead of following the ways of the world.

Yes you are right about you being saved and that good works wont get you to heaven.
But, when you become a Christian you are a representitive of the Lord! We are supposed to be holy and pleasing to him.
Josh is right. It is more than just getting saved. Its a relationship with the creator of the universe.
Once you became a Chritian your desire should be to please him by being Christ like.
And how you do that is by abstaining from the worldly things that are going to hinder you from recieving all that God has for you! Hope this answers your QuestionKenny! Peace Lizzawizza

that's a dangerous thing to think--it's NOT once saved always saved. John 15, either 1 or 2 Peter 2, Hebrews 6. It would be difficult to lose salvation, but not impossible. Being a Christian is not about religious do's and dont's. It is desiring a relationship w/God that grows continually and "being good" is living in a way that honors Him. If you don't want to do that, ask Him for a passion to love and follow Him--He'll answer. To honor God w/decisions, ask: it is it helpful? how will it affect others later on? does it have the potential to master you, control you? is it for the glory of God? Many people will be surprised when Jesus says "I never knew you." Hope this is helpful.
