Belief

Hi, I finally went to a church for the first time in 8 years and i had the pastor put christ into my life and usually im really into and emotional but i didnt feel nothing when he did it this time, i cant feel jesus in me or around me anymore. I believe in all my heart but i just dont fell anything, please i need help

That's great that you believe in Him with all your heart! But a pastor can't put Jesus in you...When you pray and believe asking God to forgive you then Jesus will be in your heart and the more time you spend daily praying and reading the Bible the closer you will get...and I have prayed with out feeling any emotions and my problem was I wasn't focused enough becuase my mind was crowded with thoughts but whenever I clear my mind of the unimportant that's when I began to feel closer and calm serene emotions appear...Praise and worship music is great to help clear the mess in your mind. Make a habit of praying....and also sometimes we won't feel anyhting that's where faith plays a major role...

Did you accept Christ? When you say the pastor put Christ into your life, do you mean you accepted Christ as your Lord & Savior? Faith isn't always about emotions. Emotions can change as we are so changeable as people, but I will tell you from my own experience you will feel a peace and a rightness with God, when you've truly accepted Him as your Lord & Savior. Just like Court said above your faith grows as you continue in your walk with the Lord. Change happens slowly. At least character change, however change as far as the eternal home of your soul happens immediately. Faith is so important because there are times that we just don't feel closeness to Jesus. Times that our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling. Also, know that the Devil would love for you to believe your not saved. Keep that in mind as you continue on in your walk. Blessings to you and be sure to know that if you truly accepted Christ and repented of your sin you are His.

I agree with them. No one can put Christ in you life except you. And Christianity isn't all about emotions. It's about your heart condition with God. As long as you truly want to serve God and stand for everything He stands for than your good.

Emotions are great, but Christ is not about emotions. When you don't feel it, He's there. When you do, He's there. Don't oversensationalize His prescence. Seek Him w/all your heart so that you will find Him, while He may be found. See Jer. 29:13. Stick w/Him even when you don't feel it. Jesus didnt' say "I don't feel like going to the cross today." He is faithful--are you? are we? How easily do we give up and get discouraged! Please don't walk away from Him. Everything depends on it.
