I quit listening to Christian music for a long time because of a lapse in my faith.  I am back in my walk now, and would really like to get back into Christian music.  When I was listening to it, I was a huge fan of dcTalk's "Jesus Freak" album, as well as the first Jars of Clay album.  Can anyone point out some similiar bandsor artists that are good now in the Christian scene?

i was reading this book for my bible study, an it hinted out that Christ died for us, that he chose to die, for us.

it pointed out that he had a choice to say no, am not gonna die for these people but he chose to die for us.

it got me thinking, what if he had not died for us,where would we be,what would we be doing with our lives.ever think about that, if not, take a sec and just think about it.

My friends and I are doing a talent show for church, and we are looking for some good artists. There is three of us, and we already looked at BarlowGirl, but couldn't find a score for the band backing us up. Any one know what we can do, or have any ideas?

I've been playing guitar for about a year and a half, and I've been wishing lately that I could play bass guitar too. I just have a few questions:

1) Is playing bass easier than regular guitar?

2) Is it as fun as playing regular guitar?

3) Is it easy to teach yourself?

I've been felling so alone this pass couple of days. I can;t seen to figure out why. I know that God is there for me and everything. I know that I have my family and friends. But, I need something more. It's so hard for me to explain it. This weekend has not been good. I just don't know what is wrong with me.

Is anyone else afraid of the reality that someday we are going to live for ever, and ever, and ever etc...when I think about it now, im so unnerved. I realize that once we are dead and standing before our Lord that there will be nothing to fear, but to try and imagine it now scares me.

I got an e-mail from pgirl (just joined today) soliciting money from me which I am sure is a clear violation of the TOS. She's using the Nigerian inheiritance scam although the country is changed to the Ivory Coast. She is asking members for $1800.00 and probably bank account numbers so she can "Wire" the money.

How do I report this?

i happen to have this friend, a very good friend of mine, infact my bestfriend. lately she has been feeling as though all the bad stuff going on in her life is infact God punishing her for all the mistakes she has ever made. she is a christian and does love the Lord.she had a pretty rough childhood, i mean, being raised by a single mom and having to find out who you dad is later on in life.

how would you help such a person.it kills me to see her this way, and i know God is not punishing her, but how do i get that into her head, how do i get her to see that.

#1. Sign yourself.

Do what a record label does yourself. How? First, sign yourself. Now create a budget to record a CD. Fundraise, play shows, save money, find producers who want to help you, collect cans, mow lawns, etc.

#2. Write songs.

Write a lot of songs. If you don't play an instrument find someone that does and collaborate with them. Write lyrics. Record vocal hooks.

#3. Record songs.

Do it good. People have home studios now for $1,000 - $5,000 that sound really good. It's not only the gear but the ear of who is using it.

#4. Market songs/CD.

There are many ways to do this for free online. MyCCM or Myspace are great ways to introduce your songs to a wider audience. Youtube is a good way to showcase your live show or music video. Help others help you. Play shows!

Labels are like banks and your music is the product. They invest in you hoping to get a return and profit for their money. Why not own your own music and market it to your friends and create new fans along the way? Call your own shots. And maybe make more money too? Often times we look at getting signed to a record label as making it but all that means is someone believes they can market your tunes and make money off of you. You can make about $7 a record on ITUNES indie so just go for it yourself and make the music count. Most labels won't sign artists anymore unless they are already doing it on their own anyway. So no more sitting in your room waiting for Clive Davis to show up at your doorstep. Get out there and do it. And take some tips from JC himself: start locally and grow it regionally, nationally then worldwide if you want.

I've been wondering if they are? Some of their lyrics seem to talk to me spiritually when I researched them on atozlyrics.com but some other songs I'm not too sure about and so far there is no place I have seen on-line that proves or disproves whether they are or not.

I made  promise to God that all my music dollars would only go to support Christian bands. Even though I can listen to a lot of bands streaming for free through my Napster subsciption and can download to my MP3 player for free also, I have chosen to buy band's that I like CD's in order to offer my financial support. So I want to know is a band like Chevelle able for that support or not?
