WARNER HOME VIDEO’S NEW AND LONGTIME FAVORITE FAMILY CHRISTMAS CLASSICS FOR THE 2007 HOLIDAY SEASON INCLUDE FIRST-EVER BLU-RAY RELEASE OF THE POLAR EXPRESS, NEW TITLE A DENNIS THE MENACE CHRISTMAS, AND FAMILY FAVORITE HAPPY FEET
__________________________________________________
Burbank, CA – With the Christmas season fast approaching, Warner Home Video has rolled out its 2007 White Christmas Promotion through Motive Entertainment’s faith-based marketing, bringing attention to new and long-standing Christmas classics, including some of the year’s best-loved releases. Great for Christmas gift-giving, The Polar Express single disc edition, A Dennis The Menace Christmas and Happy Feet are great family titles for this holiday season and holiday seasons for years to come.
The Polar Express -- the dazzling classic and one of Warner Home Video’s all-time best-selling family DVD’s -- will be making its return for the gift giving season from Warner Home Video and Shangri-La Entertainment. The Polar Express is based on the beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg about a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. He embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
Joining the ranks of holiday classics such as It’s A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Miracle On 34th Street and A Christmas Carol, The Polar Express has quickly become a cherished holiday film that families everywhere have made a part of their traditional holiday celebrations. Newly available in the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats, this Christmas favorite can now be enjoyed with even greater viewing quality.
Still available: The Polar Express Two-Disc Special Edition, which includes a making of a feature that explores how Tom Hanks and the brilliant special effects team created the five different characters; Chris Van Allsburg discussing how he conceived the idea for The Polar Express book; Josh Groban’s live performance of the Grammy® award winning original song “Believe,” which was also nominated for an Academy Award® and a Golden Globe®; two interactive challenges for children; a DVD-ROM weblink to the online world of The Polar Express and more!
In addition to The Polar Express, Warner Home Video will be releasing A Dennis the Menace Christmas, which debuted on DVD Nov. 6. Continuing the success of the franchise, A Dennis The Menace Christmas combines A Christmas Carol
with the live action version of one of America’s most widely
recognizable, chaos wreaking comic strip characters. Taking the reigns
of a re-imagined Mr. Wilson, film and television star Robert Wagner ("Hart To Hart," "It Takes A Thief," and the Austin Powers films) picks up where previous Mr. Wilsons (Walter Matthau and Don Rickles) left off. Rounding out the all-star cast is Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest) as Mrs. Wilson and newcomer Maxwell Perry Cotton ("Brothers and Sisters") as the newly defined Menace.
This Christmas, Dennis will face his greatest challenge to deliver Mr.
Wilson the “Holiday Spirit” and secure Santa’s delivery of his ultimate
present… the Raleigh Mite-Y-Max bike. Along the way, he’ll ruin his
school’s Thanksgiving pageant, take on the neighborhood bully, and, as
always, make life miserable for poor Mr. Wilson. However, all is not as
it seems, and for the first time Mr. Wilson will come away from the
holidays with a newfound understanding of himself and his next-door
Menace, thanks in part to Bob The Christmas Angel, played by comedian Godfrey (Phat Girlz, Zoolander).
Also available from Warner Home Video is the Academy Award® winning Best Animated Feature Film, Happy Feet. Set deep in the heart of Antarctica, in a land ruled by singing Emperor penguins, Happy Feet
follows the adventures of tap dancing Mumble and his struggle to carry
a tune. Cast out of the community for his strange dancing ways and
alone for the first time in his life, Mumble sets out in search of his
“Heartsong,” which will ultimately lead him to his true love. Along his
journey, Mumble meets the Adelies who immediately embrace his cool
moves. Together with his new friends, Mumble encounters some epic
adventures and soon finds that being true to himself can make all the
difference in the world.
As the proud recipient of two Golden Globe™ nominations including Best
Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song (“The Song of the Heart”),
Happy Feet is sure to become a holiday classic that is a great choice of entertainment for the whole family.
