COMEDIAN RECEIVES MORE THAN ONE MILLION HITS ON NEW "PRANKS ON CHRISTIANS" DVD

For Immediate Release (Nashville, TN) - Comedian Rich Praytor did not foresee that his idea of doing a Candid Camera-style video for Christians would lead to over one million hits on a website that featured one of the excerpts from his new DVD, Prank 3:16. The one million hits not only happened, but they happened fast -- within a 24 hour period. And now, footage from Prank 3:16 gets over 5000 hits per day via the internet.

The prank that scored so much attention was on a youth minister, and Praytor admits, it almost went too far. "He had made an innocent, but embarrassing flub in his sermon a few weeks earlier," says Praytor, "so we showed up at the church dressed as FCC agents and told him we were going to fine him $50,000 for his 'inappropriate' sermon and shut down the church. Towards the end, he dipped his head and started to cry. That's when I let him in on the prank. Luckily, he was an extremely cool guy with a great sense of humor that he took the joke well. But at the end of the prank, he lunged at me like he was going to kill me."

Rich Praytor began his quest to be a comedian nearly 17 years ago when he was still in college. Today, he is a sought-after entertainer not only in churches, but in corporate circles as well. He has previously released two CDs, a live concert DVD called "Road Rage and River Dancing," and has just entered the book market with a humorous devotional A Stand-Up Comedian Sits Down with Jesus (Regal Books). He regularly performs to approximately 80,000 people per year and has been featured on tours with Chonda Pierce, Ken Davis, Anita Renfroe and Kenn Kington, as well as appearances at major festivals and national conferences.

The Prank 3:16 DVD was born of Rich's love of practical jokes plus the opportunity to do something unique within the Christian marketplace. "I haven't seen anything like this done in the CBA industry," says Praytor. "I wanted to make a video that featured fun pranks, but at the same time, taught some Biblical principles."

So what makes a good prank? "Preparation, preparation and preparation," says Praytor "And a really gullible person. We screened most of the victims to make sure they would buy anything we said. We talked to a lot of families and friends so going in we knew we had a great chance to pull it off."

Excerpts from Prank 3:16 are available on RichPraytor.com and Prank316.com.
