West Coast Performer Magazine says, “Lam’s style is hard to resist…[her] voice soulfully spans the genres of jazz, blues, rock and pop.”

In 2006, the Independent Artist Registry named her one of the top independent artists in the U.S. She has released three albums independently and her song, “Breathing More,” landed in the Top 10 of the Radio and Records Rhythmic charts. As a finalist in numerous songwriting competitions such as the Billboard World Song Contest, Larissa’s songwriting has been repeatedly recognized for its excellence.

Larissa has performed at major Christian music festivals like Spirit West Coast and world class venues such as the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Her talent and work ethic have attracted top-notch collaborators who have worked with international superstars such as Prince and Christina Aguilera. Beyond her music, it is Larissa’s strong stage presence and engaging personality that enable her to connect with diverse audiences all over the world.

Larissa's third and most recent album, “Revolutionary,” is a collection of material showcasing her signature vocals and evocative songwriting. Inspired by Romans 12:2, “Revolutionary” explores many universal themes, including the need for change, shifting priorities, and personal identity.

Larissa explains, "Life is basically a series of relationships that bind us all together - with friends, family, God and even strangers."

Growing up in Diamond Bar, CA, Larissa’s relationship with music began at age five when she started playing the piano. By age 13, she had written her first song. Soon after, Larissa was singing at local community events and placing in singing competitions. At UCLA, Larissa majored in business economics and worked for companies like Polygram and Columbia Records (for American Idol’s Randy Jackson) and Schnee Studios (a recording stop for artists such as Natalie Cole and Steven Curtis Chapman.)

After graduation, she became the Chief Financial Officer for independent label NSOUL Records. One day, a gospel/dance group at the label, Nitro Praise, was about to go on tour and was missing a singer. Larissa stepped in to fill the spot and never looked back. As a member of Nitro Praise, she recorded on three albums and toured nationally for three years. Currently, the Nitro Praise series, the brainchild of veteran DJ and remixer Scott Blackwell, has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide. In 2001, Larissa released her first solo album “On the Way Up,” followed by a live album “Thankful to be Live” produced by Tim Schoenhals (Kendall Payne).

Additionally, Larissa has appeared as an actress in film and TV and she can be seen hosting a TV talk show, “Top 3” on Christian cable network, JCTV. She has composed music for The Oprah Winfrey Show and is writing music for “Flower Drum Song” author, CY Lee’s, new musical play, “Lady of Joy.”

Her music speaks to people’s intellect and hearts, and Larissa Lam continues to press onwards in her mission to help others experience something “revolutionary” in their own lives.
