About Gwendolyn: Knowing about God and church and music was a part of growing up with her father, a Baptist minister and her mother, busy serving in the choir and later in directing women's ministry programming. Yes, her father got her and her sisters up for church. (Don't think about going to the dance, if you couldn't give God some of His day.) Her church pastor of youth years recently reminded her he witnessed the kid’s choir singing with their hymnals upside down! Committed to developing her gift and expanding her range, Gwendolyn has taken private voice at the University of Akron’s School of Music where Gwendolyn was accepted into voice performance. With this training she has learned and excelled in spirituals, Italian arias, favorite Duke Ellington standards and scores high at juried hearings. This health educator truly promotes spiritual wellness in and out of the classroom. And here she takes it to a new level. -On her musical journey, Gwendolyn has discovered a flavor of jazz in her voice, and as a result, she infuses jazz arrangement with powerful, creative sparks. Her latest foray into music has been writing original songs and collaborating with writers Willie Lowe of Oregon and Clarence Ferguson of Rochester, NY and Bryan Schofield of Manhattan, NY. Gwendolyn feels honored to have the musical assistance of British born classical/gospel pianist Ralston Purkiss and multi-talented (did we say every instrument!) Robert Johnson, on her team. Gwendolyn is the executive producer and music director for this new-born project and has arranged 98% the lead vocal and all backup vocal of the thirteen track product. Even as she facilitates a drumming for health circle at work, she tested out congas in “ Unconditional Love”! She will honor the Father with a jazzy version of “Oh How I Love Jesus”, and a Spanish translation of “When He Touched Me”.

She states that God said take it on up and out! She creatively bonded two choirs from two locations to share with you her rendition of a Bishop Andre Woods selection. Her prayer is that her songs and service bring those closer to Him.
