"Growing in the Fertile Soil of Grace (2 Pet 3:18)"

I am very thankful for the GOOD NEWS, the gospel of grace! By grace we have PEACE with God, and God has made us fully alive (!) by His fully sufficient grace (!). "It is good that the heart be established by grace..." (Heb 13:9). Maybe some of us don't feel fully alive because we're trying to establish our hearts by how well we can perform for God and by how "committed" we strive to be to Him and for Him. Grace is the sufficient power of His life working in and through us, rather than us struggling and striving to eke out any work for Him! Growing in grace, to me, means that our hearts must seek all our sustenance in grace, with our roots digging deeper and deeper into it and becoming more and more established by the fertile soil of grace - eventually bearing HIS fruit, not our own.

I love writing and sharing about this wonderful freedom in Christ! I currently work as a courier for a hospital, and I formerly spent over 11 years at a Christian Hit radio station. I started out as a volunteer DJ and my duties slowly evolved and I came on staff, scheduling music and traffic and doing other computer work. I love all kinds of music, and I of course especially love music that speaks of God's love and of all that He's done for us, and of who we are in Him by His grace. I live in Waterloo, Iowa, with my wife and 2 kids.

Testimony
I’ll use someone else’s words to describe my testimony: “I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work. So I quit being a 'law man' so that I could be God's man. Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not 'mine,' but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Paul, in Galatians 2:19-21, The Message)
