"Last I checked, I'm no longer in charge here."

Hello all! I'm Kristine, and I am a Yankee who was raised in the South. About 8 years ago a new job for my dad moved me into the buckle of the Bible Belt, and for the first time in my life I could choose to be immersed in Christian culture no matter where I was or what I was doing. I found, for the first time ever, a Christian radio station, several as a matter of fact, and it wasn't even on AM! After living in central Florida and eastern Connecticut, South Carolina was foreign to me, but not in a bad way. I love it here, and I don't think I will ever want to leave!

As I live in a sort-of small (and boring) city, all my friends and I ever do together is go to movies (unless it's football season), so I'm becoming fairly movie-savvy. Other than that I like hanging out at church or at friends' houses. I LOVE to drive my car... anywhere or for any reason I can come up with. I sing, and I paint. And sometimes I like going to school (I attend Winthrop University in my spare time). I love pizza, ice cream and shaved ice from this little icee stand just up the road from me, but basicallly anything with cheese or salsa will win me over. I don't drink coffee unless it's french vanilla, and even then I prefer it to be cold and blendy.

Testimony
I've never been far from the Christian community as my parents have made sure that I've gone to church all of my life. I was never opposed to faith, but as a child it didn't really mean much to me besides "Jesus loves me" and the little prayers my parents taught me to say. But as a high school freshman, I really felt God calling me to learn more about my faith besides the shallow understanding of the basics that I was familiar with. I picked up my Bible, changed a few things in my life that I knew were not the best qualities to have, and I got Confirmed that year. It's made all the difference to make God the focus of my life and not just one of the things that matters.
