Dennis O’Keith Garner - was born to Fred and the late Christine Moore Garner on August 10th 1964. Dennis has had no formal musical lessons. What Dennis has is very special because all of has musical talents was a gift from God. He began playing the electric guitar at the age of 4. By age 5, Dennis performed at the Greensboro Coliseum before thousands of peoples and traveled the east coast playing the guitar or piano for churches, wedding, and many social events as well.
While in middle school, Dennis won the NC State Talent Contest. Later Dennis gained more talents such as bass guitar, organ, keyboard, piano, drums, all percussions, able to sing any vocals parts, upright bass and Dennis became a versatile songwriter as well as a Producer/Arranger.
Dennis has opened up shows and performed with many gospel groups such as Ben Tankard, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Twinkie Clark, Gospel Keynotes, Billy Paul, John P. Kee, Darryl Coley and Luther Barnes, Dorothy Norwood, Evelyn Turntine Agee and Damon Little to name a few. Dennis first recording was R&B and was recorded at Mega Sound Studio in Bailey, NC. Later he was involved with Cloudbourne Studio in Detroit, MI and Base Studio NY. Dennis was a guitarist in The Movie “Color Purple”in which Oprah Winfrey starred. During this time, Dennis also recorded at Secret Sounds Studio in New York.
In 1997, Dennis was an extra in the Movie “Eddie” which starred Whoopi Goldberg. Dennis has been on local TV playing music and singing, as well as performing on stage across the USA. In 1998 Dennis recorded a Gospel CD entitled “Sinnerman”. The CD sold very well and was a hit on local radio stations.
In 2003, Dennis was the songwriter and producer of the CD “Something For Everybody” performed by Dennis Garner & One Accord. The CD was a local hit, and is still receiving some air play across the USA on Showerdown Production Label.
Late 2005 Dennis released a single CD with 3 songs. The CD is titled “Can't Make It Without You’ the full CD will be release in April 2006.The CD is dedicate in memory of his deceased mother. Can't make it without you was her favorite song.
On the single CD, Dennis is very versatile. He's singing all the Lead and Vocal Background and also playing every instrument throughout the entire project.
This CD is also under the Showerdown Production Label
Early 2006: On behalf of the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild, the song "In The Hands Of God" from his latest CD has been selected to appear on the "The NCGAG Project" that will be nationally distributed by "Bookworld Music"
April 2007, Dennis introduced a New CD entitled “Making A Way”This CD consist of a variety of different types of music including: Holy-hip hop/Rap, R&B Gospel, Easy Listening, Jazz, Contemporary and Traditional Gospel Music.
Dennis is the only musician on the entire project.
