"Annointed Gospel Soloist from Washington, Dc metro area"

Deja first born to William & Demetra Washington was born and raised in Washington DC. This First Place Winner of the 2005 Billboards 13th Annual Song Writing Contest under Christian/Gospel Category with the song Raise Up and Praise Him. Deja knew from the beginning her destiny has been led by the holy spirit of God. Deja Born Deletra J Washington developed her unique vocal style under the guidance of her father, a music master in his own right, who passed on vocal training to Deja at an early age. As a toddler, Deja was showing her talent and early love of Classical music by humming Beethovens Fifth symphony in C minor, which also later on prompt her to study and excel in playing the violin while in grade school. Deja has been exposed and trained in classical, Gospel and R&B music from the start. She has come from a long line of singers and musicians starting with her grandfather Richard Blandon of the Doo Wop Group called the Dubbs. Her mother is also a singer along with a long list of others in her family; Deja could not help but to sing. She formed and sang in a gospel quartet called One Voice. The group participated in talent shows and performances all over the DC area. Deja released her first demo at the age of 16 and is now anticipating the release of her debut Gospel album independently, later this year. Deja continues to sing God's praises wherever she goes. www.thebvpm.net www.officialdeja.com
