Check out the second email address above to tell me about your touch from the Maker.
I'm a past-her-prime saved-by-grace self-publisher of "One Touch from the Maker", a book of twenty-one true short stories of times when people felt the profound touch of Christ - the beautiful moments when Christians realize that they are loved by the God of the Universe.
I was an editorial artist for 20 years, including 10 years in computer graphics. I love to create on the computer. Would love to know what artwork is being created wholly on the computer. I graduated from the University of Kansas and minored in English and writing. I worked for a Military magazine as editorial assistant for a time.
I'm also mother to one and gramma (Gray-a-mah according to my grandson) to four, plus a step. All my grandchildren are teenagers or older now.
"One Touch from the Maker" has been published in (quality) paperback. Now I'm preparing for the second edition, hopefully out early next year. You may read the first printing in used copies. Pay less than you will ever pay again at only $5.95. Please place your order in an email. Subject line should read "Please send book(s)". Address line is order@puckettbrowne.net. If you would like to look at blurbs from each story, please go to the site at the beginning of this profile.
I'm sorry. I only open attachments if you are related. Abuse by spammers has made me cautious. If you ordered through an attachment, please try again.
Below is the complete preface from "One Touch from the Maker". A beautiful short item appears among my photos.
COMPLETE PREFACE AS IT APPEARS IN "ONE TOUCH FROM THE MAKER"
Jesus promised us another counselor, His own Spirit, to live within us (John 14:16). Every Christian experiences His tangible touch – often in the tough times. One Touch from the Maker is dedicated to reporting the stories of those times. These true stories tell of those experiences from those who lived them: thirty (should be twenty-nine) men and women unashamedly in love with Christ.
You won’t find the sensational here (though there are a few miracles). People still work and live years after they expected the funeral notices to be sent. The unbearable becomes bearable only through the presence of the Lord. Lives seemingly destined to end in eternal suffering instead gratefully dedicate themselves to Him. Others act in ways foreign to their abilities and inclinations through His spirit within them. Those near soup kitchen poverty experience His supernatural provision. He fulfills hearts desires.
No one throws away their crutches, suddenly healed of their infirmity. Although God can do such things if He chooses (and the Bible tells of times when He did) usually, healing happens over time and with many lessons along the way. And, sometimes He chooses not to heal. But His grace is always sufficient.
Diverse lifestyles come together in these pages. Farm families, professionals, self-employed, military, retired, a Messianic Jew, stay-at-home moms, the scholarly, etc. all share their unique testimonies.
As you read these testimonies, your own moments fill your mind and heart and you will realize how much the God of the Universe loves you. You can’t help but worship, which is your Heavenly work.
The Lord is publisher, editor, financier, writer, etc., of One Touch from the Maker although any mistakes are the work of the very fallible persons He used to complete it.
Thank you to every writer who submitted to this work. There would be no book without them.
Also, please stop at my blog put in on July 28 and leave a comment. What has the Lord done for you? Please add your "Why Me" to my comments. I would love to get lots of responses. We will lift each other with our gratitude, and please the Lord at the same time.

It had been the worst year of my life. I lost my job and then a month later, found myself in the hospital with an unbelievable tumor (you don't want to know) and no medical insurance. My mobile home was on the verge of crumbling. There was no possibility of it being moved.
Then I was offered a job in another city. Did I mention that I didn't have a car? The job was in my career field and the money was good. I didn't see how I could take it and I didn't see how I couldn't.
One afternoon, I started pacing and saying "Tell me what to do. Tell me what to do. Tell me what to do." Since past prayer was mainly of the "gimme" sort, and I didn't acknowledge a god, I didn't recognize it as prayer. I didn't know who I was talking to.
But the Lord did. Suddenly I heard an audible whisper, "Catch rides."
I filled with joy and peace. Later, I thought He came in that day, because I finally gave up my own will. Up to then, I did it MY way.
"Oh. OK." I answered.
Looking back, this doesn't resemble Charleton Heston in "Moses" in the least. No spiritual tones. No lightning strike. It was just me being introduced to my beloved Lord.
I knew there would be someone at the new job to catch rides with. The first day, I met her. She started work that day too. She was the only person in the office from my home town. She wanted a car pool. Since no such thing materialized, she willingly took a paying rider. We rode together for two years, until I acquired my own car.
It's interesting to me, that we started on the same day. Ten years later, we left the job on the same day.
