I was baptised @ 7. Only b/c one of my friends told me if i didnt id go to hell. I fell off and was doin some crazy stuff. Disrespectin my mom, cussin, goin through depression...
Then i started volunteering @ this afterschool program called "Baby Girl's Club." I literally changed my life. After a few weeks there another volunteer offered to take me to her Bible study (Hey Kim). It was called "The G.a.m.e" (Go And Minister Affectively). I hadnt been to many Bible studies b4 that, but it was the most fun i've ever had learning about God in my life. It was put on by a church called Strong Tower Bible Church. To be completely honest i didnt want to go @ first. Simply b/c they started @ 9am, and i grew up in one of those old black churches that didnt start 'til 11am and didnt get out 'til about 4 or 5pm. But i went and almost every Sunday i found something else i liked about it. From the people there to the fact that it had a dance ministry. And alot of it was geared toward the youth. Strong Tower was the first church i'd heard of that had a specific pastor for youth (shout out to Pastor. D). I loved it there. I've been an official member since January of 07, but i've been goin since fall of 05.
Dont let my story fool ya- my journey hasnt been ez (jus dont wanna go into THOSE details rite now) and i kno its far from over, But by the Grace of God, Im still standin'!
