"Connecting Music To The Message"
Picture this…you’re sitting around with some of your old high school friends reminiscing. Suddenly, you burst into a stunning rendition of MC Hammer's “Can't Touch This” (or fill in a popular song from your era). Before long, your friends accompany you in (somewhat less than) perfect harmony.
The song ends. The applause dies down. It becomes quite obvious that no one should quit his or her day job. But there’s also another observation. Somehow, after all these years, everyone still remembers the lyrics.
You might be surprised how many lyrics you can recite verbatim from the popular songs of your generation. Why do you think that is? Perhaps it’s repetition, catchy melodies, or a good beat—or all the above.
